"The lockdown was a major influence in our decision to focus on the Castle Inn.

"We already bought the Castle Inn in Kendal and we were originally going to run both, but we ended up changing our minds.

"We thought it was best to let the Ring O Bells go and focus on that. We just changed our minds gradually over the lockdown.

"It felt right for us. We've always done our best with the pub, but since we opened the Castle Inn, we've noticed that there is a lot more potential in that one.

"We've loved the Ring O Bells, but we will focus on the Castle.

"We sadly lost customers during Covid, and some who we may not get back. It was a small profit margin business, and we ran it more as a hobby, so we want to focus on one with more potential.

"The Ring O Bells is a small pub, but we still had some treasured memories there. We want to turn the Castle back into the much-loved community pub we once had. We will open up the Castle Inn on May 17 at 4pm.

"Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us and all the friendship we have been given over the years."
