salvia officinalis sage tri color 2

salvia officinalis sage tri color 1

Salvia offocinalis 'Tricolour' is ornamental as well as being useful for the kitchen. With its colourful foliage it can be added to the flower garden instead of being hidden away in the herb garden. It sends up purple-mauve spikes of flowers through summer. A great easy care plant that tolerates dry conditions as well as some frost. Performs best in a sunny spot in moist but well drained soil. The leaves have a pungent herbal aroma and are great in stews and soups and Mediterranean dishes.
