Jason Lewis, who played Smith Jerrod in Sex and the City, has joined team SJP in an ongoing freud between the actress and Kim Cattrall.

“If you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all,” said Lewis. “Listen, I have to say that Sarah was always just so lovely and such a consummate professional and I think that people should remember their graciousness and the things that have been given to them.”

In an argument that has played out very publicly over the past few months, Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker initially fought over the future of a potential Sex and the City 3 film. Cattrall didn't want to feature in it, a move Parker deplored on Instagram.

The situation became more dramatic after Parker shared her condolences following the death of Cattrall's brother. The British actress consequently accused her former co-star of exploiting her "tragedy in order to restore your nice girl persona".

During an interview on US show KTLA5, Smith - known for playing the love interest of Cattrall's SATC character, Samantha - was asked if he was on team SJP.

"I might just have to say yeah...what a gracious lady," he said. "She was always so good to me."

KTLA 5 anchor Sam Rubin continued asking, "Were other people not as good to you?"

"Sarah was amazing," Lewis laughed.
