The Black Hole

Rate this book
The Black Hole has been banned in Irish and American Book Shops.. This book is a sequel to The Devil's Double. The next chapter in the extraordinary and chilling life story of author Latif Yahia. The Book the American CIA don't want you to read. In an extraordinary twist of fate and because of his uncanny resemblance to Uday Saddam Hussein, Latif Yahia is forced to work as the double or fiday of the despots son. During his training, he witnesses the true evil of the man that he is forced to imitate and the brutality of the Iraqi regime at first hand. While attending state functions and royal audiences as his loathsome master, Latif ponders his escape strategy. Undeniably the life of wealth and excess is enticing but he is no more than a bird in a gilded cage. After several assassination attempts against Latif/Uday fail and during Gulf War 1, Latif makes his escape from his life of hell through the Northern Kurdish Territories, with the help of the CIA he is flown out of Iraq to a New Life in the West and this is where The Black Hole picks up his remarkable story. On the 9th of March 1992 Latif Yahia emerged from behind the walls of the Kingdom of Terror. Vowing to settle his account with the Baghdadi regime he bolsters himself for the battle ahead. Knowing his adversaries well he was prepared for the fight but nothing prepared him for the reaction he would receive from the Western Intelligence Services. The game of cat and mouse that ensued would take him across the breadth of Europe, find him imprisoned in a covert CIA prison and see him survive four assassination attempts and the brutal murder of his beloved Saudi Princess. A compelling true story that has been played out in the world's media. Latif Yahia the man that broke the news to the world of Saddam Hussein's inner circle, he remains stateless since his flight from Iraq in 1992 until this day. When the news of covert CIA prisons in Europe broke in 2006, Latif quietly laughed to himself, he knew this in 1994. Book This is the next chapter in the extraordinary and chilling life story of author Latif Yahia. Having escaped the brutal Iraqi regime through Northern Iraq with the help of the CIA in 1992, Latif touched down in Austria. Having family in the pristine and picturesque city of Vienna, Latif is somewhat reassured that his life will be calmer now without Uday Saddam Hussein and his hedonisticaly violent lifestyle. Alongside Latif is Nusa, a hired girl, a plaything and ego boost for her Baghdadi clientele, although she has never been mentioned in Latif's past works the reasons for her concealment become apparent as the story unfolds. Unfortunately life was never to become the idyll that Latif desired, his knowledge or perceived knowledge of the inner Iraqi regime was to become his saviour and his tormentor. This, left him chained and unable to move forward, as much as he wished to forget, his handlers wanted to know more. Latif became almost a prized item in the world of International Intelligence with nearly all of the world's Intelligence agencies vying for his allegiance, his pleas for neutrality and normality unheard. Ultimately Latif was to pay the price for his uncooperative stance; ten and a half months were spent in a covert Austrian/CIA prison cell in solitary confinement, until by chance his freedom was assured by a visiting judge.

I gave 5 stars to The Black Hole by Latif Yahia because it gives a rare glimpse into the world of oil, diamonds and real estate and the manipulations of the ones making vast sums of money in these places and to the extent they will go to maintain their positions in the present setup. And this includes murder.

Latif Yahia saw early that the Bush-Cheney Gambit to make themselves immensely rich by substituting CIA puppets for Saddam was going to fail. Latif wanted none of it and got put into the black hole by the Bush Doctrine that maintained there was no neutral ground and you were either for us or against us.

Latif writes about MI5 and MI6 and I have also written about them in my books as well. Most Americans remain ignorant about not only them but world affairs in general. The problem is that this is a world economy today. If you intend to make money today, as Latif illustrates in his book, then you had better know what is going on in this world right now.

Billions of dollars have recently been lost by numerous bankers who remained ignorant of what really was going on in this world. Latif was not one of these and got out of the real estate bubble before it burst.

I've learned a lot from your book, Latif. Thank you for writing it.

It's frightening to me how few people know that this book, "The Devil's Double", and his original "I Was Saddam's Son" are nothing but fiction. Latif Yahia was never a body double for Uday Hussein. He never met Uday Hussein in his life. The CIA tore down his story and couldn't prove a single claim he ever made. He came up with the idea when fleeing Iraq, he was arrested by Kurdish Peshmerga forces who had mistaken him for Uday. They let him go and he fled to Europe where he desperately sought refugee status. Fearing deportation, he made up every lie imaginable including that he was Uday's body double and wrote this book during those years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latif_Y...

His wife divorced him for this lie about being Uday's body double https://www.theguardian.com/global/20...

Latif Yahya has a YouTube channel dedicated to praising Saddam Hussein and his government and family. https://www.youtube.com/@LatifYahiaOf... Doesn't sound like a "tortured forced body double" to me.

Interesting story

Interesting story. Just confirms my view of some middle Eastern politics. However, the anger the writer exudes at other counties is off putting. He has been put through a great deal but has also had some talents and good fortune for which he doesn’t seem grateful. It was an interesting read for the most part but towards the end was too much politics.

Fascinating read...

This is the the continuation of his first book, "the devils double". Latif Yahia's life is an example of the fighting spirit of the struggle to survive, no matter what country we choose to live in. I admire his courage. Also I can appreciate and respect the love he harbors for the land of his birth. A very enjoyable read. I recommend reading both books.

No Words

The corruption and immorality in so many governments of so many countries is not shocking but is absolutely tragic. So many lives ruined.

This is a very good true story that reads fast and is hard to put down. Latif shows much courage in his plight to find asylum after running for his life from Iraq and his past. He doesn't always take the hero route as he describes his depression and low points of this journey. Much money is offered but he continues to keep his values when applicable and doesn't sell out. Admiration of his journey is noted.

This work also shows how refuges are treated and much of it is as one would expect - disappointing. This book makes the point, although, they may be refugees they still should be shown human kindness in their difficult plight. All too often this was not the case. Would we do better?

I wish Latif the best as he has certainly suffered many lifetimes of pain and sorrow.

An excellent follow up to The Devil's Double. Following his escape from Iraq, the book follows Latif's journey seeking asylum in Europe whilst still being under close surveillance from the Iraq regime.

I found this book an instant page turner. A very interesting and horrific story. If you enjoyed The Devil's Double I would most definitely recommend this book.

good book

This book was a quick sequel to the action packed "Devil's Double". Mr. Yahia unfortunately had suffered more than any human should. My hope is that he gained some healing through his writing!
