This book was a pleasant surprise. It was not what I thought it would be. I was thinking it was going to be a sci-fi type book but instead I found it a book that had a feel good element to it. Ms. V is a student councillor and she loves her students. As she’s helping them work through their problems she’s putting a smile on my face.

I was provided an audiobook copy by NetGalley for a honest review. Listening to this audiobook was easy listening. The narrator was clear and interesting. A feel good book that touches all the feelings.

Blessings Be With You

An inspirational tree filled with pertinent bible verses for everyday situations. An exceptional woman that used her talents and love of God to help those in need of spiritual guidance.

Mrs. V is a counselor at a Christian school. She helps students, parents and even staff with their spiritual needs and real life incidents. With her compassionate ways and her excellent advice she helps those in need to follow the right path.

At night she is a prayer warrior for those children on the brink of losing faith being attacked by demons. She wields her sword for Christ at night saving souls in her dreams.

I enjoyed this story. The narrator did a wonderful job on the narration for the audio book It was easy to understand and pleasant to listen to. The scriptures were inspirational and thought provoking. I would recommend this book.

Thanks to Traci Wooden-Carlisle and D. Tina Batten for writing a good story, to Anita Faye Thomas for her great narration , to Books Go Social audio for publishing it, and to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of the audio book to listen to and review.

Just wow!!! This is one of those books I would've given 10 stars to. If you loved War Room, you'll love this even more. If you know the importance of spiritual warfare in our world today, read this book. I've never seen an ending like in this book. It makes it even more interesting. I think it is my favorite one that I have been given the pleasure to read in advance so far this year! Blessings be upon the authors and all who read this. Very well done!

Fantastic story that brings the importance of several different kinds of prayer into crystal clear focus. (intercessory, guidance, etc) And a solid reminder of the power of becoming known as a good listener and kind person.

Even kind people can have a 'bad day' where they don't make the kind choice sometimes, but when it's an overwhelming habit to be kind, and bless those around you, the outcomes of so many circumstances can be turned on their heads! I love how Mrs. V does that.

The way that the spiritual warfare battles appear as dreams was also pretty cool.

When I started this book, I was distracted by what seemed like overly descriptive passages and prayers/conversations that felt overdone, overly spiritual.

But by chapter 3, I was hooked and by 6 I didn't notice those things anymore. And as I have been "called out" for "over-spiritualizing" things on occasion, I think maybe I am more sensitive to noticing it in others...

I also loved the dual endings, I think experiencing both outcomes enhanced the story nicely. And they were both beautifully done. Either one would have been satisfying, but taking the time to create both so well is a gift to the reader!

I'd recommend this to anyone, teen and adult.

I received a copy of the book from #celebratelit, and chose to review it here. All thoughts are my own.

Be Faithful and Be Determined

When I think of book love, my book love is for this book. In a world that is so hard and so devastating especially for young people, this book just gives me hope. Just knowing there are people in this world who actually are prayer warriors and they won’t give up. That is exactly what kind of person Mrs. V is, she is a Prayer Warrior. Follow Mrs. V on her journey as she fights for those in need, those who struggle, those with fear and those with secrets. I enjoyed the atmosphere, loved all the characters and could see each battle being fought while reading. This book is heartwarming, inspirational, faithful and a determined story by a very talented author Traci Wooden-Carlisle. I will definitely be reading more from this author. I would highly recommend this book and repeat Mrs. V by saying “blessings be upon you.”

Prayer Warrior is a powerful and inspiring book. The character’s stories and the many examples of how God is working in their lives drew me in. Some were so touching, tears came to my eyes. It captivated me throughout, and made me apprehensive in parts, wondering how the story would unfold.

Miss V is a counsellor by day and a warrior by night; you are taken into two worlds where Miss V reveals the power of prayer and the manifestation of this. And of course, God’s purpose must prevail.

I loved the spiritual elements; I was right there with Miss V wielding my sword. It was great! They were powerful dreams—or were they?

If you’re looking for an intriguing, emotional adventure with strong Christian themes, this is the one for you. A recommended read.

This book was given to me for my honest review.
I have read a lot of this authors books but this book “takes the cake.”
There is a thin line between what we deal with everyday and what is actually going on in the spiritual realm. Ms. V is a guidance counselor by profession, but she is also a prayer warrior in the spiritual realm for the students and coworkers that she encounters daily. The Bible teaches us that the prayers of the righteous availeth much and this books allows you to see what happens when prayers go up! This books is an excellent read for anyone who just wants to go deeper in reference to intercession and the power of prayer.

When I began reading Prayee Warrior I did not know what to expect. Having read other novels by Tracie I knew I was in for a treat. She weaves such marvelous stories, it engages your emotions and gives one pause. I found Ms V a very knowledgeable woman, she was a strong prayer warrior who kept herself in check. I marveled at her attitude, she sought the Holy Spirit for wisdom before she spoke. My mother has often said that we need to train ourselves to do certain things, so it comes naturally. Ms V was that disciplined type, she asked, received and spoke with wisdom. We knee jerk our response not speaking with love, wisdom or compassion.
I appreciated the real life issues teenagers are faced with, and especially Ms V guidance in each case.

Oh-okay has the book inspired me?!
Yes!
God knows I wish people delved into the spiritual more. There so much people don't understand, and if they knew mannhhh, if they knew, so many people would NOT be living in bondage. Depression, anxiety, resentment, rejection, fear, bitterness, homosexuality, autism, confusion etc. All of these evil spirits, people would know how to cast out in Jesus name. And in turn they will share the Good News with others.

I did not read the natural alternate ending I chose the Spiritual alternate endings simply because we spiritually beings. We are in this world but not off this world. I don't know about other people but I tend to forget that, when I don't fit in connect with people. We want to belong where we are, but are not made to be molded to this earth.

I am so happy to have read this book. We all need to be cheered on, pushed forward, inspired to persevere. The sad thing is that many of us don't have these people, but we can have a relationship with the Holy Spirit.
Lastly, if you need encouragement, purchase this book. If you feel hopeless read this book. If you need a push, if you feeling stuck in life and spiritually stagnant READ THIS BOOK.

I received this book by the author to provide my honest opinion. If you haven't guessed already I HIGHLY recommend this book.

The Prayer Warrior by authors by Traci Wooden-Carlisle and D. Tina Batten is a phenomenal story and should not be missed! It is a powerfully moving contemporary tale of spiritual warfare based on real-life circumstances. Anyone who reads this fabulous book will glean greater insight into prayers as well as spiritual warfare.

This mesmerizing story is a powerful Christian tale of spiritual warfare among everyday life. Set in a Christian school with struggling teens, their wonderful counselor, Ms. V., provides sage advice and effective prayer support. The situations are presented from her point of view. The characters are believable and relatable. I loved the inspirational message that was woven throughout the story beginning on the first page. I was invested in the book and prayer warrior immediately. This was a true page turner.

The authors did an excellent with their melded writing style. The story flowed smoothly. I could imagine it being played out like a movie. It was so interesting and followed what I have been taught about spiritual warfare. In some ways it reminded me of The Prayer Room because it talks about a powerful subject that can change a person’s life.

This novel will definitely stick with you long after you finish reading it. Give yourself time to process its powerful, mighty message. The authors have included dual endings that are both engaging. I highly recommend this novel. It would make a great movie and will surely end up on the big screen soon. I gladly rate it 5 out of 5 stars.

I recommend this for everyone. Small church groups or reading groups will benefit by discussing this in a cozy setting. I can think of many people that would like to see this under their Christmas tree. I received a copy from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own, honest ones.

I recommend reading this book! It's great especially for those who work in schools or with older children as a great example of all the stress the children are under. the battle for their souls. and the challenge to fight the battle for them. The book had some surprising twists and turns and you can't assume how it will end until you actually read it. I also liked that it has an alternative ending and can choose which ending you want to read or which one you like the best. It's a great reminder of how much of a battle there is going on in the world and it is NOT against flesh and blood or things we can see or people. Praise God, through His blood, victory ıs His and can be ours too!

Not by might, not by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

This is a wonderful story of being strong in your faith. Ms V was a prayer warrior devoted to the Lord and even to her friends. It is an inspiring story of maintaining that strength during hard times, and inspiring others to deepen their faith and take up the Lord's work. The writing was beautifully descriptive and the ending was lovely in Ms V's acceptance and embracing where she was at. She was truly at peace. A well written story.

What a unique novel exploring the influence we have upon others. Ms. V is such an engaging character. Her relationship with the Lord is inspiring. Her example gave me encouragement to see every moment in relationship to God and to have the same kind of prayer life she did. The format of the narrative also portrayed the spirit world as it relates to actions in our observed world. At times it seemed the spirit world was more real than anything else. In that sense, the novel is very thought provoking and seems to ask which is more real? The spiritual realm or this one we physically live in? And really, how do the two realms interact? How do our prayers translate into reality in this realm? We readers are given a choice regarding the end of the story. Do we choose to see the physical realm and what happens there or the spiritual realm? Is that the kind of choice we really make daily?

This is a good novel and one that inspires serious thoughts about how our lives and prayers affect others. It would be a good book to discuss with your friends.

Don't forget, God's blessings are upon you. (Ms. V)

This was pretty good book. I must admit the fantasy genre is not one I typically gravitate towards to. I have to be really interested in it and has to captivate me right away for me to be hooked. This was pretty good. There were parts that I didn't really love or quite understand but overall it was pretty good.

The authors do a great job at writing a story that will encourage you and look at your faith walk with Jesus. It is very descriptive so you an imagine everything with detail as you are reading. Overall I thought it was a good story. I recommend this if you enjoy your adult fiction, allegorical type writing and fantasy all rolled up into one!

Thank you NetGalley and BooksGoSocial Audio for accepting my request to audibly read and review The Prayer Warrior, narrated by Anita Faye Thomas.

The story built around a high school guidance counselor and her consistent Christian belief system. She treated every person the same paying attention to their needs. She listened. Throughout the story bible verses are given referencing the advice.

In addition, there is a shady, metaphoric side to the story. Bits and pieces are dropped until the end when the book goes full circle.

This would make a nice car audiobook,a nursing home activity listen, as well as an anytime gift for young or older.

Anita Faye Thomas did a fantastic job as narrator.

My Thoughts

“Therefore see that you walk carefully [living life with honor, purpose, and courage; shunning those who tolerate and enable evil], not as the unwise but as wise [sensible, intelligent, discerning people], making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence], because the days are [filled with] evil. Therefore do not be foolish and thoughtless, but understand and firmly grasp what the will of the Lord is” EPHESIANS 5:15-17

The Prayer Warrior is a beautifully written book about Ms. V, who embraced her identity as a beloved daughter of the most high God, and used her job as a school counselor to help her students understand this as well. This is why she greeted her students and coworkers daily with “Blessings be upon you”.

Ms. V also took on the Lord's work by being a prayer warrior in the Kingdom of Christ. She let the Holy Spirit lead her, and she understood that the battle was not hers, but was the Lords.
“For she was a fighter in the natural, and God had used her boldness to give her authority where she walked, and the confidence to stand in her rightful place in the army of the Lord”

I really enjoyed all the scripture and prayers that were sprinkled throughout the book, it was a great reminder of how we can use scripture and prayer in our daily walk with God – and examples of how we can share our hope and knowledge with others.

I highly recommend this book, especially to anyone who is struggling with their identity in Christ. Ms. V was always pointing her students to the Warrior Way – to live life fully and abundantly from the Heart of Jesus, for Jesus, and in the Kingdom. This book will definitely speak life into your heart, and will remind you of the love and purpose that you can find and have in Christ Jesus.

We can Live Free and live Loved – intimately with Christ

“You make know to me the path of Life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”PSALMS 16:11

“I am the way and the truth and the Life”JESUS, IN JOHN 14:6

A little fun side note, I kept hearing the song "Speak Life - Sevin Duce" in my spirit as I read this book. I definitely think that if Ms. V had a theme song, this would be it.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 TIMOTH 4:7

2.5 rounded up

This book follows Ms. V, a Christian counsellor who works at Hope Christian Academy through the day. At night, she deals with spiritual realm as a prayer warrior. This book is an unapologetically Christian story, but I will say fell a lot less into the fantasy genre for me than I had initially anticipated given the blurb for this book. I expected this book would be a lot more fantasy-based, with equal amounts of her as counsellor and fantasy elements (which I thought would be a lot more fleshed out), but the book is primarily about a Christian counsellor who is very well loved by her students and colleagues helping people through their various troubles.

This was very well written and the narrator was great at bringing the characters (especially Ms V) to life. The dialogue sounded very much like the kinds of things you would hear in strongly Christian circles and therefore quite realistic in some respects.

It has a *heavy* evangelical leaning and I have to say I do not personally fall within that theological bracket so a of lot of it was not to my taste and fell very flat - particularly talks of purity rings and pledges to fathers (vowing to hold virginity sacred or God will be unhappy), the only gay character in the book being basically a child predator (big dislike for this part of the storyline though the way it came up was actually a bit plot twist-ey and I thought we were going down an equally bad but different storyline) amongst other things.

As a note: I listened to the audiobook version of this book which means I only got one version of the ending, though apparently the paperback and digital editions have an alternative ending as well. I would be interested to see what the other versions were and how it changed the storyline.

TLDR; If you fall within the evangelical/charismatic or Christian conservative audience, this will be an excellent read for you. It didn't hit the spot for me sadly, though the end actually threw me for a LOOP I was not expecting where the story went ,so for that I am rounding up not down from 2.5 despite all the above.

I was provided with a complimentary copy of this audiobook by BooksGoSocial Audio via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, which I leave voluntarily.

Ms. V is a counselor at the Center of Hope Christian Academy. She is also a devout Christian. She has a true heart for the teens she councils as she listens to their problems, observes behaviors in their classes and on campus, provides sound Christian guidance, and bathes all their situations in prayer.

When she goes home, at night, Ms. V steps into the spiritual realm with a warrior’s sword and the word of God to battle the enemy that wants to steal the hearts of her students. These spiritual battles are taxing on Ms. V, but she is willing to stand firm as long as God calls her to the task.

As we glimpse into Ms. V!s life, we meet young people struggling with teenage issues; including sexual pressures, predatory situations (even in the church), and bullying. There is also a co-worker who is dealing with bitterness and jealousy whose attitude is eventually changed. Her counseling is consistent and she displays genuine snd unconditional love to everyone. Her character is beautiful and her legacy is perpetual all because she is willing to humbly serve her faithful God.

V’s story is very upbeat and endearing. The writing is direct and an easy listening audio. I feel this is s story for both for adults and teens. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys an inspirational story whether they are a believer or a nonbeliever.

Narrator, Anita Faye Thomas does a superb job with her reading. She brings Ms. V alive and draws the listener into the spiritual and physical lives of the characters.

Even though the fantasy part of Ms. V ‘s life was awkward for me, I am glad I had the opportunity to listen to The Prayer Warrior: A Spiritual Christian Fantasy.

Just an Amazing Book! I plan to buy this book for family and friends. I hope to start a study of this book.

The Prayer Warrior is about a Christian counselor, Ms V, that works at a Christian school. She prays for her students and friends.. She prays with students during their sessions. She prays silently during the sessions, so that God can lead her. This book really encourages Christians to "walk the talk". This book could help students, parents and anyone that wanted to lead their life directed by God..

Ms V deals with many difficult topics with her high school seniors like - God, sex, attire, parents, promises, academics, and their future. Ms. V helped her students think Biblically about their future decisions. She truly listens and does not judge others.. I can understand why the students brought their concerns to her, she really cared about them in a very special way. Some of the students sought her out; others were scheduled because she felt called to intervene in their circumstances. It would have been so easy to just tell the student what she thought was right for them. but she let them make their own decisions.

Ms V also helps faculty members and people that work at the school with their struggles. There is also spiritual warfare described in the book for the souls of people and students. The work that Ms V does for everyone is taxing and she goes home every day tired and worn out. But she also goes home knowing that she has done the work of her Heavenly Father all day long.

"Blessings be upon you!"

“The Prayer Warrior” by Traci Wooden-Carlisle and D. Tina Batten is a compelling Christian Fantasy novel that explores the thin line between the natural and spiritual realms. The story revolves around Ms. V, a humble servant of the Lord, who serves as a trusted counselor at the Center of Hope Christian Academy during the day. She provides a safe-haven for students and faculty, offering professional and honest guidance infused with kindness and love that draws them closer to Jesus. However, by night, Ms. V enters the spiritual realm as one of God’s faithful prayer warriors, wielding her whispering sword to thwart the enemy’s plans and protect the hearts of those under her charge.

The book’s unique premise sets the stage for a captivating and thought-provoking narrative. The authors have skillfully created well-drawn characters and settings, immersing readers in a world where the boundaries between the natural and spiritual are blurred. Ms. V’s unwavering faith and belief are a powerful anchor for the story, making her a compelling protagonist.

“The Prayer Warrior” offers readers a journey of spiritual intrigue and profound biblical insights as they witness the consequences of each character’s life-altering decisions. This book is a must-read for those seeking a unique and faith-affirming tale that delves into the battle between good and evil in both the physical and spiritual realms.

This has been a powerful story to read with its message of hope, compassion and faith. I loved Ms. V and her heart to pray for others. Her job at the school gave her the opportunity to speak to teenagers who needed guidance. Throughout the story I kept thinking about a counselor that my youngest son had in fifth grade. He was being bullied by a teacher and I went to his counselor for help. I hoped she would give encouragement to him but instead gave him a journal and told him to write in it everyday. Oh how I had loved to have a Ms. V at his school.

The authors deliver a story that shows how prayer can make a difference. Ms. V was a Prayer Warrior who never gave up. Her compassion for the teens at school was heartfelt as lives began to change. The scriptures and prayers that she said surrounded each person she prayed for. The characters in the book are easy to relate to and touch on subjects our teens face each day. I could sense the stirring as she went to Jesus in prayer. It was like watching heaven open up and angels ascending to do battle.

If you are looking for a book for your youth group, this is one that you need to get. It will open eyes to those who doubt that prayer works and give them hope and a deeper relationship with God. I also think it would be a great Bible study tool to use for individuals or small groups.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

Welcome to Center of Hope Christian Academy. It’s a school rich in options: wood, photo, auto shops, and lots of sports. College-prep academics complete the image, a setting ripe for modern writing of peer rejection and teen hormones.

However, this is not a story about cool kids and rejection, nor competition and ambition, like so many today. This is a story of the heart, of choice, of commitment, seen through the eyes of the prayer warrior school counsellor, Ms V. She’s not the face of the perfect Christian. She had a bad marriage, a rough divorce, and is a solitary soul with one real friend. But she’s on a mission for God, and she draws us into it.

We get to know and care about the children and adults who come to Ms V. We see through her eyes how forces of darkness are seeking to derail each one.

And we enter the spiritual battlefield with this woman as she raises the sword of God against the powers of darkness, with stirring Scripture and prayers. And we get to choose the ending we prefer!

This is a memorable read. I loved how the authors drew our attention away from the superficial, where judgment casts its gavel with such ease. She directs us to the spirit, where God’s heart for redemption lives.

The Prayer Warrior is written by D. Tina Batten and Traci Wooden-Carlisle. This is a Christian Fantasy book. I would recommend this to teenage readers and up. This was a wonderful book that will draw you in immediately.

Meet Ms. V. She’s a dedicated prayer warrior. She is working as a counselor at Center of Hope Christian Academy. She is well known for listening to everyone and becoming a safe haven for those to come with their problems.

I loved at night how she goes to battle for those who has confided in her. The descriptions of the whispering sword and battlegrounds made me feel like I was watching a spiritual battle unfold. I love the descriptions of how hard Ms. V battled for her students and co workers.

This book is a great reminder of God’s faithful prayer warriors who go to battle when we confide in them. I know my favorite was my grandma. She’s now deceased, but I can picture her up there now still fighting for us. This book is well written with great descriptions.

School counselor by day and fierce, determined prayer warrior by night, Ms. V serves God with her heart, soul, and spirit. She recognizes the power of Scripture, prayer, and kind words. She fights the battle for the souls of those around her in prayer. She truly exemplifies in her words and actions what I expect a prayer warrior to do.

The author created a powerful and moving story of spending time with God through Scriptures and prayers in order to know and do the work He has for us. Truly, the power of this work of Christian fantasy draws the reader into the story.

The attention to detail including the setting of Ms. V’s office to the food she eats to the words she prays and says bring the power of God to this book. Some characters, especially Ms. V, I felt drawn to immediately. While at least one other in particular, caused me to want the need for God. So if you enjoy reading Christian fantasy filled with a true prayer warrior and the toll those prayers and Spiritual battles take on one’s own physical body, check out this book for yourself.

Prayer Warrior by Traci Wooden-Carlisle follows Ms V. a Christian Counselor. She is loved by all her students and fights in battles (praying) in the Spiritual Realm and intercedes for them. I liked the concept just wasn’t excited about the delivery it felt a bit forced.

This is 100% an evangelical religious story. I personally had problems with getting into it. I really was hoping it was more like the blurb a fantasy based book with quieter Christian tones. It’s not that I don’t enjoy the strong dialogue- it’s just in a fantasy fiction book I don’t tend to expect them as strongly as they were presented here and for me if I wanted that as pleasure reading, I could just go read my Bible. I felt it was very heavy and over the top. Some readers may enjoy that type of writing, and while I respect it - it just wasn’t something I could get into. For me- sometimes less is more especially in fantasy and for me personally this was just too much.

Thank you to Netgalley for the audio arc. All opinions expressed are my own.

This intriguing story offers a powerful Christian tale of spiritual warfare and real-life circumstances. Set amid a Christian school with struggling teens, their wonderful counselor, called Ms. V., provides wise advice and effective prayer support. The situations are presented from her point of view. I enjoyed the tale but sometimes got a bit confused in the supernatural realm. And I was surprised a Christian school employee was not a Christian, but her faith journey added to the compelling plot. The conclusion gives readers two choices for how the novel ends—but both are similar yet surprising. The authors did a good job weaving the parts of the book together to form a cohesive unit with a heart-touching message that is so needed in today world filled with strife. It would make a good read for teens too as well as a great one for a discussion group. I received a copy from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.

Batten and Wooden-Carlisle have written an interesting fantasy novel in The Prayer Warrior.
Ms. V is a high school counselor. She is also a prayer warrior. She cares deeply about the students she works with as well as her co-workers, even the unlovable ones. Prayer can change things as is evident by the change in some of the characters in the story.
There are two ways to read the book as is evident by the authors’ presentation of two endings to the book. Does this book happen in the spiritual realm or does this book happen in the natural realm? That is a question readers will have to answer for themselves. I will say I much prefer one ending over the other but readers need to decide for themselves which fits best.
While not necessarily a young adult book, I do think that teens might enjoy this book. The Prayer Warrior is appropriate for the secondary section of a K-12 Christian school library.
I received a complimentary copy of The Prayer Warrior. This is my honest review.

This faith centred story is very well written. It contains many important bible verses. I enjoyed the verse selection and the fact that each chapter begins with a new verse. Also the authors touch on various real world situations that believers face. It also deals with facing grief and struggle with faith.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The narration is pleasant and easily understood. This story is meaningful and has value. It is however, a very slow paced book. Readers should be aware that this is a book to read for meaning and learning in my opinion. It offers a positive perspective and brings verses to modern application.

It has a similar vibe to the movie “War Room”. If you enjoyed that movie I would recommend this book.

Thank you to the authors and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review!
