Goldilocks and the Three Bears has been orally told for a long time. I think most children in America have heard the story or read it in a book. It is considered a folktale because for a long time it was only told orally. It also is about characters that are not real. Goldilocks is not a real person. The bears in the story are personified. These type of characters are normally in folktales. Another element of a folktale is knowing that the story is not real. We know bears can not talk but we like the entertainment factor.
Folktales are designed to be a silly story to entertain people. Because of this the characters are not well developed. We do not know anything about Goldilocks, where she comes from, where she goes, and why she is in the woods. Similarly, we do not know anything about the bears except for they are a family and are three different sizes. This is common with folktales, the story focuses on what happens in the story rather than any character development.
I would defiantly use this book in my future classroom. I would do a unit on types of stories to teach children that there are different genres of books. This would help them to understand the categorization of books. Also how different genres have different elements to them. It would also encourage students to read more books in a genre that they enjoy.

The traditional story of “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” is a classic tale and an enjoyable read for children of all ages. Goldilocks stumbles upon a house in which three people seem to be living and she decides to test out each of their things until she finds the one that suits her best. This story displays the effects of curiosity in young children. Some interesting literary elements in the book are the use of diction and using extremely descriptive words, as well as utilizing the strategy of beginning thoughts and text on one page and then completing them on the next. Similarly, some design elements include great illustrations such as the fuzziness look to the bears making them appear more realistic and the obvious emphasis of certain words and sounds through the use of a different and larger font. This book is a retelling of the original story, and while it is still a great plot, I was not a huge fan of the ending because it seemed to end abruptly. I would have liked a bit more explanation to tie the end of the story together. Other than that, a great story altogether!

Theme- zpd, too much, too little, perfect
I thought this book was so cute, I actually never read this as a child, but I know it's a classic because everyone knows about it. This would be a great book to teach older children about the zone of proximal development, but mostly teach younger children about only taking what's theirs, and helping the decide what they truly need.
My favorite part about the book was that it brought a whole new meeting to zone of proximal development. I love getting to apply what I have learned to what I am doing in life.

After reading this picture book about Goldilocks and the three bears, I thought the book was great for young students wanting to learn about the genre "Fairy-Tales". I really didn't read much fairy tale books when I was younger, but reading it now, I would recommend it. The illustrations and text create the story and overall tells a great message.

I read this book when I was little and loved it. I recall wanting to eat porridge whenever I read it because it looked so appetizing in the story. Though it’s been years since I first read it, I’m still giving it 5 stars because of the joy it brought me then and the nostalgia it continues to evoke.

I absolutely love this book. Goldilocks and the Three Bears is a classic that everyone loves, especially me. It's about a little girl, Goldilocks, that is playing in the woods one day when she smelt something good, she follows the small into this house and decides to go inside.Inside she finds three bowls or porridge, where she tries each one of them and then eats it all up. She then goes into the living room, sitting on three different chairs, and actually ends up breaking one of them. She then goes and lays down in all three beds, and then falls asleep in one of them. While shes asleep, the three bears come home, only to find Goldilocks in asleep in their house. When she wakes up,she screams and runs away.I've always loved this story, and I absolutely love this exact book. The pictures are so cute and kid friendly. Filling up the whole page with picture. They're colorful and they tell the story really well without even having to read the words. I loved this book.

This books illustrations are amazing and got my attention right away. This is fairy tail is like the classic story of the three bears but is retold in an amusing and animated way in the story “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”. Goldilocks makes herself at home in the three bears house, testing out their porridge, beds and chairs.. making sure to "break" each of them in! The bears come home to find their things touched, ruined and Goldilocks asleep in one of their beds.
I would use this story in my intermediate (3rd-5th grade) reading classroom because it is full of advanced vocabulary, but is used in just the right ways! It is engaging to the reader and would make for a great read-aloud story. You could teach a vast amount of vocabulary through this story and use it as a comprehension lesson, comparing the different versions of this story on a graphic organizer.

The traditional story of the three bears is retold in an amusing and animated way in the story “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”. The story is full of advanced vocabulary in just the right places so that it doesn’t overpower the story, but rather enhances it so that readers can learn and be engaged all at once. I would definitely use this story for a read-aloud, since it has lots of fun language that kids would enjoy, and possibly as a mini-lesson for better vocabulary in students’ writing.

This story is about a little girl who touches and eats things that do not belong to her while the three bears are out. This can be utilized in the classroom by teaching kids not to take things that do not belong to them no matter who it belongs too.
