Lacey Chabert is celebrating the release of her new Hallmark movie and she’s hearing from GAC star Danica McKellar.
Over the weekend, the latest Hallmark Movies & Mysteries film, Groundswell, premiered and was met with a lot of excitement. Based on Katie Lee Biegel’s 2011 novel of the same name, Lacey portrays an Atlanta chef named Emma. After experiencing personal and professional setbacks, she goes to Hawai’i where she meets a surf instructor named Ben (Ektor Rivera). Through his lessons, Emma slowly begins to regain her self-confidence.
According to the author, Lacey was her “dream choice” to play the leading lady — and it sounds like Danica agrees.
Ahead of Groundswell’s release, Lacey shared behind-the-scenes photos and footage. Danica took one of these opportunities to share her excitement about the new flick.
“Can't wait!! 😍,” she commented on Lacey’s Instagram.
Other fellow TV actors, who simultaneously work for both Hallmark and GAC, chimed in as well. “Looking forward to seeing it!!!” Cindy Busby wrote. “You’re amazing 😍 everything you do is incredible,” Emily Hutchinson added.
Unsurprisingly, Hallmark fans also took to Lacey’s comments section to post heartwarming messages. “Can't wait love ❤️ all your movies!! 😍😍😍😍,” one person wrote. “This is gonna be one of the best hallmark movies yet!!” another added. “You have done it again 😍😍😍,” a different fan said.
As fans may know, in October 2021, Danica left Hallmark after six years and 15 movies. For her next career chapter, she agreed to work with GAC to star in and be an executive producer for original movies for GAC Family and GAC Living. Despite this, it seems like Lacey and Danica continue to cheer each other on.
Though Lacey and Danica aren’t sharing the screen right now, folks shouldn’t rule out the possibility in the future. According to Deadline, Danica’s contract with GAC is only set to run through 2023. But in the meantime, Lacey is keeping fans entertained over on Hallmark.
