Ryan Reynolds just revealed how he and Blake Lively got together, and the story is iconic.
“I met Blake on the darkest crease in the anus of the universe called Green Lantern," Reynolds said on the SmartLess podcast, according to People. “We were friends and buddies, and about a year-and-a-half later we went on a double date, but we were with dating separate people.”
After this, the Deadpool actor said he and Lively “always kind of kept in touch but casually.” Then a relationship started to form. “Next thing you know, she was going to Boston; I was going to Boston, and I said, ‘Well, I’ll ride with you.’ We got on the train and we rode together,” he recalled. “I was just begging her to sleep with me.”
Their relationship moved quickly. When asked about the process of realizing Lively was the One, Reynolds said it was “out of a fairy tale.”
“A week later I was like, ‘We should buy a house together,’” Reynolds said on the podcast, per People. “And we did.”
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have been married since September 2012 and have three daughters together. He opened up about being a parent to Access Hollywood in 2020. “I just try to be as present as possible. We don’t split up, like I shoot movies and my wife shoots movies and we go travel all over the place and we just all go together,” he said. “I think that’s been the best part of it is that we really don’t spend a lot of time apart. I get to spend a lot of time with my girls.
“No joke, they are the most capable people I know,” Reynolds told AH about the women in his life. “If anything got crazy or scary in my life, they are the first people I would lean on because they have wisdom and strength and they’re calm under fire.”
