Where can I see the Pale-throated Three-toed Sloth

The Pale-Throated Sloth is one of the two sloth species found in Central and South America. They are easily distinguished from the Brown-Throated Sloth by their pale throat. They inhabit lowland rainforest and mangrove swamps, where they feed on leaves, buds, and fruit.

Despite their slow movements, Pale-Throated Sloths are very graceful animals. They have a long tail which they use for balance, and their limbs are so long that they can wrap them around branches to hold on while they sleep. Their fur is a light brown or grey, and they have a characteristic band of white hair around their eyes.

Pale-Throated Sloths are shy animals and prefer to stay in the trees. When they do come down to the ground, they are very vulnerable to predators. They can swim well and sometimes cross rivers to get to new areas.
