This is a plan for building the item shown. It is not sold as a completed product or as a kit.
Car: 12″ long, 6″ wide, 6″ high
Base: 20″ wide x 13″ deep
The Stanley Steamer was invented by twins, Francis and Freelan Stanley making early steam engines practical for auto use. Their early steam motor only had 13 moving parts. It was powerful and fast, popular with the wealthy. But it took 20 minutes to fire up the engine. Soon the advancements of Ford and others with internal combustion engines took over. Thus, the life of Steam power for cars came to an end. Today it is one of the most cherished among car restorers.
Our woodworking plans package for intermediate to advance woodworkers comes with full size patterns and over one hundred drawings and photographs to assist in producing a wood likeness. Make full size copies of the patterns, spray the backs with an adhesive and attach to wood that has been prepared to the suggested thickness. The plan includes instructions for building the service station island complete with a water pump, an oak bucket and filling hose. Multiple colors of hardwoods shown.
