I have a 1994 F-150 300 6 4x4. I was looking at my front end and saw these. Are they clips or spacers for the coil spring? The picture is from the right side. They are on both sides. As you can see, they are really only on one side of the spring. They seem like they are hard rubber or plastic. Kind of a stupid question, but I just want to know what they do.

Also, why do I have two shocks on each side of the front end instead of one? Is this something the PO did or was this a factory option?

Dual shocks were a factory option.. The "spacers", no, a poor excuse for some lift, all it really accomplished was a harsher ride...

 

It's funny that this pickup would have that option because the only other option it has is 4x4. No a/c.

I'll look at those spacers this weekend and see if I can't take them out.
