Norwich was voted one of the best places to live in England in a national poll earlier this year - but there's one hidden gem of a street which impresses visitors with its charm and cobbles.
An underrated city with a gorgeous picturesque street has been constantly named Britain’s one of the most beautiful and is among the best places to live in England.
Norwich scooped a prestigious spot in a national poll earlier in March, coming third in a list of 50 best places to live in the country on review website iLiveHere.
Nearly 68,000 people pledged their votes which saw Darlington crowned the winner, with Aylesbury taking second place ahead of Norwich.
It has a lot of tourist attractions but the most talked about is Elm Hill which one of the country's best-preserved medieval streets.
The street has been used as a backdrop for a range of Hollywood films and TV shows.
The iconic Norwich lane, which stretches from Princes Street to Wensum Street, has been on several postcards, guidebooks and chocolate boxes.
The cobbled street with breathtaking views takes its name from the elm trees planted here in the early 16th century.
Travelers have been left amused after visiting the city and especially the street.
A user said: “Being a short walk from the Cathedral, Castle and the shopping area, this really does feel the deserted, hidden part of Norwich. The tourists have yet to discover it, so go now before they do!
“It is a narrow cobbled street lined with old houses and with some interesting shops. It is fascinating to walk along.”

Another said: “Elm Hill is a blast from the past. Furthermore it links the shopping area with the river area in a very picturesque way.
“On the right hand side as you go down there is a taxidermist's shop tucked away to add spice (not for squeamish).
“I just loved the whole experience. Plenty of pubs at the other end if you need a target to head for. Good for atmospheric photos.”
While visiting the scenic lane, one cannot miss a trip to the Britons Arms, a 1300s coffee house and restaurant, which also offers a fantastic afternoon tea.
There is also The Bear Shop, which houses a monumental collection of Charlie Bear, Steiff, Paddington, and so much more.
