Fantastic condition and truly unique this Japanese ceramic nodding head Samurai is an absolute delight. He has a wonderful stance sat gracefully holding a script or rod of parchment. The samurai is dressed in a handsome Japanese robes, they are delicately painted with beautiful colours and glazed to a high standard.
The nodding mechanism is a thin rod that balances on the and simply gorgeous look in his face. The head nods really well, the base of the head is a long neck and a ball shape to allow the nodding to function.

There maybe a small repair to the neck although this may be how the wire balance is fixed to the head- please see all photos.
