Natural items, ( ie; bones, teeth, fur, insects ) are always by-products, meaning nothing is EVER killed for the sole purpose of using it in our jewelry and accessories.
The majority of the natural components are farmed in third world countries, giving uneducated people the ability to make a living. Just like raising livestock in this country, people raise and breed insects, for instance, only to sell them when they die. They have a very short adult life naturally, which make them good candidates for that business ( most adult insects live only 1 - 3 months ).
When mammals are farmed for their meat, to make extra money and avoid waste, we are sold teeth, bones and claws. Every part is used!

Delicate, hollow glass beads were filled with a slurry of material derived from fish scales and gelatin. This coated the interior face of a hollow bead creating a pearlescent effect. This curious technique was developed by a 17th century French rosary maker.
Platelet-like guanine crystals which give fish scales, and the pigment found on these beads, their iridescent appearance, were used to coat the core of the bead in a similar process that he used in the 17th century.
Costume jewelry companies from the 1880's to the 1960’s, used glass beads, then coated the surface with an adhesive paste made with iridescent North Atlantic fish scales and oil to make the surface look like a genuine natural pearl. 30 dippings produce these elegant pearls.

The number one reason for controlling the population of prairie dogs, AKA gophers or ground squirrels, is their burrows. So many entrance holes cover the ground, the wild bison who share the habitat get their hooves stuck in the holes and break their legs. The bison end up suffering with no aid.
In addition, the prairie dogs have become over populated in the region of the Dakotas and need their numbers to be in check for the environment. We get them from the government officials who do this job.
No part of these animals are wasted, with the bulk of the body used for food, usually for feeding pigs on farms.
One of the many reasons I started this business was to show people the waste that could have occurred if one does not recycle nature.

Animal horns, teeth or bones are allowed into Australia if they are clean and free from contamination with seed, soil and animal or plant debris.

If contamination is found on the items they will be treated, exported or destroyed at the importer’s expense.

Animal horns or bones may be subject to control under the CITES. Items known to be or considered to be covered by CITES will be referred to the Department of Home Affairs on arrival in Australia.

**All of Necromance’s natural items are clean and free from afore mentioned debris. None are on the CITES list**

Still, there is that one clause:
"If contamination is found, they will be treated, exported or destroyed at the importer’s expense."
Please note, it is up to customs in every case.

If you are drilling through teeth, bone, antler or jet, a high speed Dremel tool can be used. I recommend using a small drill bit, 2mm or smaller, which is designed to drill or cut wood.
All of these materials are easily burned, so pause after drilling into it for a quarter inch. I wait a minute or two to allow the material to cool down. If you get the material too hot, it will discolor or even crack the piece!

A custom order would only incorporate your tooth/teeth in the same condition it is sent to me, and only into one of my existing designs. Most designs with hanging teeth are acceptable.
Custom orders on teeth involve GLUING ONLY. If the tooth has a root for me to glue a cap on, that is no problem.
I am sorry but I DO NOT do custom orders involving cutting teeth due to the high risk of me breaking them! ***NO rings can be custom made.*** Teeth are very brittle and the enamel can easily be cracked, breaking the whole tooth during the cutting, cleaning and polishing. I take the chance ones I own, not my precious customer’s teeth ! !
Custom orders are not returnable.
