Dizzy Bees is a URBAN garden in a large subdivision, located on beautiful Vancouver Island on the Westcoast of Canada.
While we started our journey to grow food, it soon became apparent that the bees didn’t know we were here. So, we began growing for the bees, pollinators, butterflies, birds, and one of our favorites: hummingbirds. Not only are they essential to growing food, but they each play an important role in creating a healthy ecosystem in every garden.

OUR HUMMINGBIRDS LOVE IT AND SO DO WE
One of the most fragrant flowers we grow, this stunning plant is a must-have for every gardener and is ideal for the mixed border. Flowering for many months, it fills the air with a sweet, jasmine-like scent. Showy white flowers open during the cool of the evening.
This beautiful variety has such a fitting name. Long, tall stems carry slightly nodding, glowing white flowers with pale chartreuse throats and outer petals. The pretty, star-shaped blooms add an element of sparkle and movement to arrangements. Elegant and tall, this plant is loved by pollinators and hummingbirds and will flower all summer long when deadheaded regularly.

There are so many good reasons to grow Jasmine Nicotiana, it stands 3-5’ tall, with dozens of cascading head of pure white, tubular flowers, Pollinators adore them, especially moths and butterflies. HUMMINGBIRDS are drawn to the timeless cream flowers and have been known to guard it all day and nest in the patch.

Harvesting/Vase Life:
Blossoms are fragile, so take care when harvesting. Remove spent flowers from lower half of stem every few days. Expect a vase life of 7 days.

Sow seed 6-8 weeks before last frost. Do not cover and bottom water until seedlings emerge. Transplant out after all danger of frost has passed. In areas with hot summer weather, plant in part shade
