According to reports, Sulakshana Pandit was madly in love with famous actor Sanjeev Kumar but the actor did not marry her because he was in love with another actress.
There are many actors and actresses in Bollywood, who have not married even after crossing the age of 50. Some did not find a person of their choice, while some never felt the need of a partner. But, there are some Bollywood actors who have destroyed their life for the sake of love. In 70s, there was an actress named Sulakshana Pandit, who remained unmarried throughout her whole life due to her one-sided love for a superstar. Sulakshana Pandit worked with superstars like Jeetendra, Vinod Khanna, Shatrughan Sinha, Rajesh Khanna, Shashi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan, but she was still called the most unlucky actress of Bollywood.
According to reports, Sulakshana Pandit was madly in love with famous actor Sanjeev Kumar but the actor did not marry her because he was in love with another actress. Sulakshana had worked with Sanjeev Kumar in 'Uljhan' and it is said that she fell in love with the actor during the shoot of this film. On the other hand, Sanjeev Kumar was reportedly in love with another actress and he proposed the actress for marriage twice, but his proposal was rejected. Sanjeev Kumar was left heartbroken after the rejection and went into depression and he decided to remain unmarried for the rest of his life. This decision of Sanjeev Kumar also affected Sulakshana Pandit and she also decided not to marry anyone else.
In 1985, Sanjeev Kumar died of a heart attack at the age of just 47. But, even after the actor's death, Sulakshana did not get married and she also slipped into depression. Sulakshana’s sister Vijeta Pandit had once claimed in an interview that the actress had gone into depression after the death of Sanjeev Kumar.
Vijeta Pandit brought Sulakshana to her home in 2006 but the actress locked herself into a room and did not prefer to meet or talk to anyone. Once Sulakashana fell in the bathroom and broke her hip bone. She underwent four surgeries to fix her hip bone and she is now unable to walk properly.
