Hight woke up without an appetite on Tuesday morning, before falling back to sleep and passing away around 9am.

Medics believe her likely cause of death was a blood clot stemming from the original injury, per Generation Iron.

The swimsuit model rose to fame after winning the Ms Fitness USA Western States Division tournament and Ms Fit Body Bay Area in 1994.

Her success in the competitions sparked a decades-long modeling career for fitness and muscle magazines.

Under the pseudonym Amy Hight, she also starred in several made-for-video films, mostly of the softcore porn genre.

Chicago-born Hight was also a contestant on the reality series Real Chance of Love, where 17 women compete for the love of brothers Ahmad and Kamal Givens.

She starred in the series under the nickname 'Milf' on the show, which premiered in October 2008.

Hight made it to the top three contestants but was eliminated in the penultimate episode.

She has a son who is around 24 years old with Cormier, a retired American bodybuilder who competed in the IFBB.

Her modelling career came off the back of daily gymnastics training as a schoolgirl which enabled her to build an impressive physique on stage, according to Generation Iron.

She discussed this lifestyle with Ironman magazine in 1996.

'We trained every day after school. It was more [like] family,' she said.

'The training was so much more elite there than what I was doing at the local community gym.'
