Remember 2007? Everyone had rhinestones on their T-Mobile sidekicks and vajazzling had just taken off. If you yearn for simpler times and want to harken back to ye olde days of 2007, read on to see what it's really like to get vajazzled.

1. Some salons use temporary sparkly tattoos to vajazzle. This means the adhesive is already affixed to the design, which makes it much easier than having to simply glue on each individual crystal.

2. You should wait 24 hours after waxing. The adhesive won't stick to hair so whatever area you're vajazzling needs to be bare. Enrique Ramirez, owner of Face to Face spa in NYC, says clients should aim to wait 24 hours after waxing to get vajazzled, though they try to accommodate clients around their waxing schedules.

3. The whole thing is relatively quick. In an ideal world, the temporary tattoo will come off the backing in one fell swoop and there will be minimal to no individual filling in of the sparkles. If that's the case, the whole thing will only take a few minutes. If you're doing a more complicated design however, you should block out more time in your schedule.

4. Vajazzling isn't always on the vulva. It's common for people to get the stickers on their hips or bikini line.

5. Pjazzling also exists. The salon can 'jazzle up the male bikini line or the buttocks.

6. Wear tight underwear after the treatment. You'll want to avoid any fabrics that might snag on the jewels.

7. Depending on how active you are, the design can stay upwards of 7–10 days. Things like how much sex you have, sweating, exercise, and lotions will affect how long your jewels will stay on.
