Review: La Bombonera

Give us the big picture: What’s the vibe of the place, what’s it like?
Going to a futbol match in La Bombonera stadium is to soccer fans what witnessing a recording session at Abbey Road studios is to music fans. Set in La Boca, the stadium is home to Boca Juniors, one of Argentina's top soccer clubs.
What kinds of events can we see here?
On Boca Junior match days, the streets of the neighborhood are a sea of yellow and blue, the team colors. Seeing them play in their home stadium is one of the world's top sport spectator experiences. Top international acts have also played in this stadium.
Nice. How are the seats?
If you're expecting plush and comfy seats at a soccer match, you're in the wrong place. And a fan of the wrong sport.
Anything in particular that makes this place special, from the programming to a unique feature it has?
A superclasico is a derby match between rivals Boca Juniors and River Plate. Scoring tickets to that event at La Bombonera is akin to going to a Beatles and Stones concert.
If we’re going to be in town, what—and who—do you think this is best for?
Soccer fans, obviously. But hardcore sports fans would get a kick out of going to a game at La Bombonera, too.
