    Justly popular for over a century is this splendid plant from southern Brazil bearing all summer and into autumn (even as late as mid-November we have a bed still happily in full flower!) clouds of large, pure white, star-shaped flowers on nicely robust plants. The blooms are open and colourful by day and beautifully fragrant in the evening. Can be grown as a biennial. 3ft (90cm)

    Fantastic Plant

    Easy germination, but slow. Big robust plant once its established. The evening perfume is wonderful. I had the joy of a visit from a group of Hawkmoths last summer. They fed on the nectar and the sound of their wings was awesome.

    Germination Instructions

    Sow indoors. Sow into moist well-drained seed compost, cover with a fine layer of vermiculite. Propagate 15-20°C. Do not exclude light. Germination 10-14 days. Transplant seedlings once large enough to handle into trays with 5cm spacing. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed, 45-60cm apart.

    Growing Instructions

    Easy to grow once planted out. Water regularly.

    Cultivation Instructions

    Cut and come again variety. Cut flowers regularly to encourage growth and to prolong flowering window. Deadhead if you do not want it to self-seed.
