A Bill Goldberg WWE return may be close

When we last checked in on Bill Goldberg, there were reports floating around that “the wheels are in motion” for a return to WWE for at least one more match. This started right when he was announced for the WWE 2K17 video game, opening the door to his coming back. It always felt like it was only a matter of time.

That time may be sooner rather than later.

That’s according to a report from Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio:

"There are very serious talks with Bill Goldberg going on right now, maybe more serious than... they may already be done for all I know. Everyone is avoiding the question. Where there's smoke, there's fire. ... There's something going on. Put it this way: It's in the very strong discussion stages at worst."

Both Goldberg and Brock Lesnar have been building to a match against each other, even if it’s just been promotion for the video game. Perhaps we’re going to get a WrestleMania 20 rematch at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando.
