'Sex and the City' Actor Jason Lewis Is Engaged

While Smith Jerrod and Samantha Jones ended up together on Sex and the City, the real-life actor has some relationship news of his own to share. Jason Lewis, the man who brought Jerrod to life on the small screen, is engaged!

Lewis chose a coastal California cliff to propose to girlfriend Liz Godwin just before sunset, he revealed to People. “To keep Liz from suspecting anything, I organized a climbing [and] beach day out at Point Dume, Malibu, with friends and family gathered for the holidays,” Lewis recalled per People. “We set Liz up to climb a cliff right over the water, just before sunset. My buddies and I then sprinted up a back trail to the climb so I could be waiting for her at the top. I anchored myself to the rock—clipped her to me, just in case—then got on one knee and did ‘the thing.'”

Of course, Godwin, a producer, said yes and was completely shocked by the romantic gesture. “I never saw it coming,” she shared of the moment. “I’m overwhelmed with emotions and feelings I never knew I had.”

Lewis and Gowin have been together for quite some time now after meeting at a party in Miami over four years ago. Apparently, the pair has their eyes set on a 2021 wedding date!

While Lewis retired the role of Smith Jerrod many years ago, we hope that some of his Sex and the City co-stars will score invites to his nuptials. We're sure Kim Cattrall would be elated to see her on-screen beau marry the love of his life (even if Samantha would be super jealous!). Congrats to the happy couple!
