Monospecchio Monodado
The Ferrari Testarossa "Monospecchio Monodado," also known as "Single Mirror, Single Nut," refers to specific unique features this version of the model had.

The "Monospecchio" or "Single Mirror" attribute refers to a design feature wherein the car was fitted with a single, high-mounted 'flying' wing mirror on the driver's side. This was a standout aesthetic characteristic of the early Testarossa models and was reportedly due to aerodynamic and visibility research.

The "Monodado" or "Single Nut" pertains to the center-lock wheel system used on this model, where each wheel is secured with a single large nut rather than the more traditional multiple-lug-nut configuration. This setup, often used in motorsport for quicker wheel changes, contributes to the unique appeal of this particular version of the Testarossa.

Iconic Boxer flat 12 and slatted sides
As for the mechanical side, the Testarossa was powered by a 4.9-liter flat-12 engine, producing around 385 horsepower and 361 lb-ft of torque. This engine was longitudinally mid-mounted, a layout chosen for its benefits to the car's balance and handling.

The car's distinctive wide and low design, along with its slatted side strakes, made it stand out. These side strakes were not just for style, they were for channeling cool air into the rear radiators, while the wide bodywork was necessary to accommodate the car's large rear tires and mid-engine layout.

This example
This stunning 1986 “Monospecchio Monodado” comes in the very rare and striking Grigio fer (gunmetal grey) on a light grey leather interior. It is in impeccable condition, having had 3 owners since new.

The car is “matching number” and was first delivered and registered in Germany back in 1986. It was then acquired at a Coys auction by a well known British collector and imported to the UK in the early 1990s (remaining a LHD car), where it did barely more than 3,000kms over the course of 30 years.

It has 38,217 genuine kms on the odometer, confirmed by a “carvertical” search, backed by T.u.b in Germany and MOT history. It is in original paint, bar front and back bumpers. Its interior is in very good condition, same for its mechanical parts. The car has recently undergone a service, which included the costly replacement of the timing belt. It comes with its original manual.

This low-mileage model is a rare and highly desirable proposition with its uber original specification. It represents an amazing opportunity for a passionate car collector wanting to stand out amongst the traditional Rosso corsa Testarossas.
