Name: Summer Glau

Role: Android protector Cameron on Fox’s “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” (tomorrow at 9 p.m. on WFXT, Ch. 25).

Hometown: San Antonio, Texas

Age: 26

Where you’ve seen her before: Glau is best known for playing River Tam in both the short-lived Fox series “Firefly” and the movie “Serenity.” She also played Tess on “The 4400” and Crystal on “The Unit.”

Fun fact: Glau is a classically trained dancer and her first TV role was playing a ballerina in an episode of “Angel.” Executive producer Joss Whedon liked her so much, he cast her in “Firefly.”

On playing a terminator: “Of course, I adore Arnold Schwarzenegger, but I don’t know if I’m going to be much like him. I spoke to (executive producer) Josh Friedman a lot about how he wanted my terminator to be. We’re going to make my terminator the most advanced model so far in her human traits. So that’s what I’m striving for.”

On how this role is different from her previous work: “I was just so excited to play this kind of character, because in a way she’s much like River in that she’s isolated and she’s different from the other characters in how she relates and how she communicates. But she’s very strong and she can’t genuinely feel emotion. River – that’s what she was all about. She was just a jumble of emotions.”

Where you’ll see her in five years: Competing on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” of course.
