Newbie the three-toed sloth
Newbie the baby three-toed sloth arrived at Kids Save The Rainforest charity in Costa Rica after he mother was attacked by a dog.
Newbie is a sweet natured hard worker with an enthusiasm for life but blighted by illness. Sam Trull called her ‘Newbie’ in the fear that giving her a 'real' name would jinx her survival. This is because Newbie had pneumonia that she just couldn't seem to shake, despite several courses of treatment.
Newbie has come came a long way since being rescued but is by no means out of the woods as both Sam and Newbie are battling her illness in the hope that she’ll make a full recovery. Newbie has an incredibly strong bond with Sam and they spend all day together.
Her heart-warming story is full of emotional twists and turns.
