Cheers! LCBO poised to uncork new store at Park Place

South-end location scheduled to have soft opening March 25 and store will include more than 1,500 brands

Visitors to Park Place in Barrie will soon be able to finish off their shopping trips by popping in and picking up their favourite adult beverage at a new LCBO store.

The new location, which will be located at 100 Concert Way, next door to The Keg in the south-end shopping plaza, is scheduled to have a soft opening on March 25, noted a spokesperson with the LCBO.

An official grand-opening celebration is scheduled to follow at a later date.

The 6,768-square-foot space will include more than 1,570 brands, including more than 100 vintages listings, as well as a walk-in cold room and same-day pickup for customers’ convenience.

“The location was chosen for its convenience. It is accessible by public transit and close to other retailers and restaurants so customers can do their one-stop shopping," says the LCBO.

The store is expected to employ 10 people, and will be open Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Barrie has five other LCBO locations, including Mary Street downtown, two in the north end (534 Bayfield St., near Georgian Mall, and in the North Barrie Crossing Shopping Centre 587 Cundles Rd. E.) The city’s south-end stores are located at 461 Big Bay Point Rd., near Yonge Street, and the fifth at 37 Caplan Ave., near Mapleview and Bryne Drive.
