Derick Brassard has featured in Mats Zuccarello’s Christmas photos before, but never like this.
Zuccarello posted a photo on his Instagram to celebrate Christmas eve, but the photo had little to do with the upcoming holiday. His caption reads “Merry Christmas everyone. Enjoy the holidays. Highlight of my year so far” referring to the picture above that has much less to do with Christmas, but a lot to do with his former teammate and old Christmas pal Brassard.
Even after Brassard’s departure it was clear that the two remained close, with Zuccarello even joking that nobody should be friends with him unless they want to get traded (He was also good friends with Carl Hagelin).
Brassard came back with a comment of his own, but the person that may have enjoyed it more than anyone is Brassard’s current teammate Erik Karlsson.
