Hot to Get To The Montjuïc Magic Fountain of Montjuïc?
Page Content
Q: I will be visiting Barcelona soon and would love to see the fountains at Montjuïc. I am not comfortable with travelling on the Metro system. Is there any other way I can get there from Las Ramblas, can it be reached by taxi or on foot? Please advise.
A: From the Northern most end of La Rambla (Plaça de Catalunya) you have about a 30 minute walk to the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc. You will need a good street map to help you find your way. Just walk straight up Gran Via until you reach Plaça España. The magic fountain is then only a 5 minute walk from Plaça España.

If you decide you can take the metro then the España metro station is only a few minutes walk from the Magic Fountain. This is probably the quickest and easiest way to get there. If, however, you still feel uncomfortable you can also take a taxi without any problems at all and is probably the easiest option for you if you don't want to go by metro. Taxis are plentiful and you should not have to wait more than a few minutes before you can hail one down. You can fit 4 passengers in a cab. It is possible to also reserve a taxi for up to 6 passengers however taxis with a 6 passenger license are much lower in number.
If you prefer not to work out the travel yourself you could consider the Barcelona Night Tour. This will include a visit to the Magic Fountain plus a panoramic tour of some of Barcelona's most picturesque places to visit at nightime.
