Pieris japonica 'Scarlett O'Hara' is a dense, multi-stemmed, slow-growing, bushy, evergreen shrub of compact, upright habit, with oblong to lance-shaped, narrow, glossy, dark green leaves, reddish-bronze to reddish-green when young. Clusters of lovely, fragrant, bell-shaped, creamy-white flowers, resembling Lily-of-the-Valley, hanging below the branches bloom in spring. Pieris 'Scarlett O'Hara' grows best in moderately fertile, hummus-rich, acidic, well-drained soils. It doesn’t tolerate waterlogged and chalk soils. It thrives in full sun as well as partial shade. Once established, somewhat resistant to drought and urban pollution. It is tolerant of frost, but needs to be sheltered form harsh, drying winter winds. Generally, pest-free. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning. Pieris japonica 'Scarlett O'Hara' is a superb, flowering shrub with wonderful colourful foliage. It is perfect for beds and borders or banks and slopes in informal, cottage, urban and woodland gardens. Suitable for growing in containers. Excellent for acidic soils beneath conifers and hardwoods.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
