Upper estimate price exceeded by 68 %.
In December 2020 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Art Contemporain Evening Sale, which included the work Staircase with Blue Window by Sam Szafran. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 100,800.00 68% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Sam Szafran have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work L’Imprimerie Bellini in December 2019 with an auction result of EUR 876,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Art Contemporain Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Staircase with Blue Window von Sam Szafran zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 100.800,00 und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sam Szafran auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit L’Imprimerie Bellini im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 876.500,00.
