    Derbi USA

Is there still a Derbi USA? When you log on to the Derbi site, it just takes you to the world site. Anyway, the reason I am asking is because I just saw the new models...
    I'll take a GP1 250 please!

Derbi releases some great biles recently. Saw them at the Milan bike show.

I doubt that it makes sense for them to export to the US (prohibitive homologation costs). Even in Europe, Derbis are a relatively rare sight outside of Spain, except for their smaller scooters.

I like Derbi's new Mulhacén 659 Café Scambler, with the fine Minarelli engine from the Yamaha XT660 and new Aprilia Pegaso:

No Derbi sales in USA anymore is what we hear from Piaggio.

Well they are pretty popular around here...esspecially their supermotard 50cc's and derbi GPR's. But I hear a lot of negative stories about derbi's build quality.

Yep, heard similar from the teenagers riding 50ccs and 125's over here.

    It's Klemm Research

A long time ago (think back to the Moped craze in the US), I want to say '79 there was a guy in SoCal by the name of Harry Klemm who owned Klemm Research. He was the Derbi guy in the US I thought. He actually made an expansion chamber for my Tomos, but his part was R&D for Derbi.

I'd forgotten all about him, but just the other day, I think I was near Corona or Riverside and I think I saw Klemm Motorcycles (a small shop) as I drove past. I think he'd know if Derbi has any signs of life here in the US.

You can sway a thousand men by appealing to their prejudices quicker than you can convince one man by logic.
