- Details: These are wonderful vinyl "puffy" stickers from Tom Wilson's lovable character, Ziggy. Created in 1971, Ziggy has a sweet, easy going personality, is portrayed as an animal lover, (he has a dog, cat, fish, parrot, and even a pet rock). The cartoon strip became very popular with the lovable loser, (things never went according to plan for poor Ziggy), eventually appearing in over 500 daily and Sunday newspapers. These are from U.P.S. (Universal Press Syndicate) who ran the Ziggy comic strip starting in 1971. Little known fact, Ziggy is credited with saving U.P.S., at the time, a fledgling start-up. Several of the stickers have 'ziggyisms', like: "Have a nice life", "Smile, it improves your face value" and "Hi good looking!". Ziggy stickers have long been a collector's item, these are in great condition, in their original packaging (simple card stock), never been used. The card has no information, however, each sticker reads: "U.P.S. Tom Wilson". We must warn you, these are over 40 years old, glue may have dried, we cannot guarantee performance. Best used as a collectible. Great gift for a stickers collector or Ziggy fan.
