From 1940-1965 Competitions were Held to Try to Establish A National Flag. Prime Minister Lester Pearson Held A 33-Day Debate about the Flag in 1964. Finally, The Official Maple Leaf Flag of Canada was Adopted 1965. It Has Three Vertical Stripes of Red & White, With A Red Maple Leaf in The Cente.

I purchased this flag a few months ago and mounted it on a standard flagpole (25') exposed on top of a hill which is subject to constant wind and varying weather conditions. When received and inspected, it appeared to be very sturdy and well made. The test of time has proven my initial observation as valid. It has managed to beat back every kind of summer weather condition thrown at it so far. Living in Eastern Canada, the winter weather may be a different story - but frankly, I think it will hold up well and probably last longer than any other flag I've run through the test.

The flag began to fray at the corners immediately after it was hung. Definitely not a great value for the price. The cheap $10 ones from the hardware store last at least one year. Bought this originally to avoid yearly purchases. Didn’t work. Flag is now so badly frayed at the corners that it’s wound around the pole too tight to remove. Check the photos I just took. Just ordered a 5 star flag. Hope it’s of better quality and durability!
