This deserves a good rating. Less than half the price of the orange depot unfinished posts. This is solid red oak. No veneers. You will need to sand, stain, and seal it. The bottom section is longer than needed an can be cut to fit your project. It is hollow with a solid oak block that attaches to the floor oor stair tread. The post fits over this block. Mine is a little loose with 3/16 gap beteen the inside of the post and the block. I will add a lot of contruction glue so it will not be a problem. I coul build it better, but it would take me weeks. And then noone will see the difference. This is the best value for money.

This one is solid oak wood no filler. It’s hollow so you can set it with the center stump and the post slides over it. Great product and a Lot cheaper than Lowe’s that wants $450 foe ONE Post!
