She's a pop star. A beauty brand founder. And now a full-blown makeup artist, apparently. Is there anything Gwen Stefani can't do?
The "Hollaback Girl" singer walked the 2022 Met Gala red carpet on May 2, and she knew exactly how to stand out. She was dressed in a custom neon yellow Vera Wang gown that was brighter than the sun, but that was not even the most impressive thing about her look — it was the fact that she did all of her own makeup, featuring her own brand, GXVE Beauty.
GXVE Beauty, which launched on March 3, consists of eye shadow quads, eyeliner pencils, brow pencils, and more. Stefani oh-so-kindly wanted to give viewers a chance to see her products in action, teasing several new nude lipsticks joining the matte, satin, and liquid formats that have already dropped. These new shades will come to Sephora on June 7, but we are dying to have them now after seeing Stefani on the red carpet.
For her face base, she used All-Time Prime Hydrating Multi-Use Prep & Smooth Oil to prep her clean and moisturized skin, giving a simple glow. Then, she used her Line It Up 24-hour Waterproof Gel Liner in the Bathwater shade to wing her eyeliner like always, but in blue instead of black. To highlight her eyebrows, she used her Hella On Point Ultra-Fine Eyebrow Pencil in Shade 2. For lips, Stefani left her signature bold red lipstick for a nude glow, mixing Tragic Me and Stomp Box.
We are overjoyed to see that Stefani is adding some variety to her makeup looks because nude lips suit her just as well as red ones. So, like, our only request now is…can we have a little tutorial video to watch her do her makeup? Asking for a friend, obviously.
