Biography

At Washburn: Appeared in 45 games making 33 starts recording 126 career tackles and 25 tackles for loss with 16.5 sacks and a touchdown … a two-time all-MIAA selection … (track): Has competed in 43 events … owns the school record in the discus and the hammer throw during the outdoor season with nine of the top 10 marks in program history in the discus and the top four marks in the hammer throw and the fifth-best individual mark in the shot put … has the second-best individual performance in the indoor weight throw in program history and the fifth-best mark in the shot put … has competed in 35 events overall … combined 13-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and two-time selection to the MIAA Scholar Athlete list.

In 2022-23: (football) Recorded 36 tackles and a team-high 8.5 tackles for loss for 30 yards adding five sacks for 27 yards en route to honorable mention all-MIAA honors starting 11 games … had seven tackles in a game three times and two tackles for loss in three different games … finished with 8.5 tackles for loss for 30 yards in the season and five sacks for 27 yards adding a forced fumble … a five-time Ichabod defensive power player of the week selection … (track): Earned first-team All-American honors by finishing sixth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the discus with a school-record mark of 54.05m (177-04) and was a second-team All-American in the hammer throw finishing ninth with a school-record of 61.61m (202-01) … an all-region selection in both the outdoor discus and hammer throw … was the MIAA Outdoor Champion in the discus throw earning 10 team points and scored four more in the hammer throw and one point in the shot put … redshirted the indoor season … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

In 2021: Started in all 12 games on the defensive line recording 33 tackles with 23 solo stops and 3.5 sacks ... returned a fumble for a touchdown in the win over Central Oklahoma ... four-time Ichabod defensive power player of the week and two-time Ichabod big hit player of the week ... earned All-MIAA Third Team honors on the defensive line ... named to MIAA Scholar Athlete list and placed on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

In 2020-21: (football): Football season canceled due to COVID-19 … (track): Had 14 top-10 showings in the outdoor season including a fourth-place finish at the MIAA Championships breaking the school record in the discus with a mark of 52.82m (173-03) … finished fourth in the shot put at the UCM Kennedy Invite with a personal best of 15.84m (51-11.75) and was fourth at the Woodman Classic with a hammer throw mark of 54.80 (179-09) for a personal best … during the indoor season he finished eighth at the Ichabod Invitational with a personal best of 17.67m (57-11.75) … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

In 2019: (football): Started 10 of 11 games recording 43 tackles with 23 solo stops adding 7.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks which led the Ichabods … had a career-high eight tackles against Lincoln adding two tackles for loss … also competed in track and field … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll … (track): Recorded PRs in the shot put at the MIAA Indoor Championships at 14.89m (48-10.25) and the weight throw at 15.52m (50-11.00) at the Kansas State Open … shot put mark is the fourth-best individual performance in program history … outdoor season canceled due to COVID-19 … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

In 2018: Named the Ichabods' Jermon Watson Co-Freshman of the Year after playing in all 11 games collecting 14 tackles with eight solo stops and 4.5 tackles for loss with 3.5 sacks … had a season-high four tackles at Missouri Western and also blocked a kick … a two-time Ichabod defensive power player of the week … also a member of the Ichabod track and field team. (track): Finished ninth at the Tjeerdsma Classic setting a PR in the shot put with a mark of 13.46m (44-02) … redshirted the outdoor season … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. 

Background: Named first team all-state on the defensive line and honorable mention all-state all-class and was nominated for the Kansas Shrine Bowl … named to Kansas Football Coaches Association first team all-state and first team all-league … named to top 150 senior football players in Kansas all as a senior after blocking two field goals while also handling punting and kicking duties with a school-record 77-yard punt adding 32 quarterback hurries with 64 for his career … as a junior he was an all-league pick as an honorable mention selection at defensive end and placekicker and second team all-league on the offensive line earning Class 4A Division I all-state honorable mention as a junior …  finished fourth place in shot put at state track and field meet and broke school record in javelin as a junior … as a senior he was the 4A state champion in the shot put and the javelin and finished third in the discus … will also compete in track and field at Washburn … a two-time Powerlifting Champion winning junior and senior seasons … graduated in top five percent of class … member of high honor roll and a Kansas Honor Scholar.

Personal: Son of Keith and Stacey Rose … majoring in biology.
