It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for: The Distillery Winter Village is reopening this week! As a Torontonian you know the Winter Village is one of the most iconic scenes in the city. It makes the cold more bearable, spreads holiday cheer, creates memories and is the perfect place to spend time with a loved one (or potential new flame). Whether you go for the shopping, eats or photo-op, you won’t want to miss the Distiller Winter Village this season.

The Distillery Winter Village
The official grand opening of the Village will take place on Thursday, November 18 at 6:00 pm with a ceremonial tree lighting of a 55-foot tall Silver Fir Christmas Tree in Trinity Square. This year you can expect over 60 000 twinkling lights on the tree, over 600 giant ornaments and 2km of garland! If that doesn’t scream festive I don’t know what does! The tree was provided by Forests Ontario which is a non-profit organization that specializes in tree planting as well as forest education. The Distillery Historic District has donated $5,000 to Forests Ontario to support tree planting, which will help to offset the emissions related to this year’s centerpiece tree.
“The Distillery Winter Village is the picture-perfect holiday shopping experience,” says Nadine Singh, Manager, Events and Sponsorship at The Distillery Historic District. “It’s an intimate event, where friends and family gather to explore the rich history of The Distillery District, take-in the timeless romance of the holidays, and enjoy a curated selection of Toronto’s finest craftspeople, local shops, restaurants and cafes.”
