Characters / You're Under Arrest!

One of the two protagonists of the series, Natsumi is a police officer stationed in the Traffic Section of Bokutou Police Station. A friendly, fun-loving and easy-going person, Natsumi is also a very passionate officer who takes her work seriously and can be rather brash and impulsive when it comes to apprehending criminals, relying mainly on her instincts and near-superhuman strength to get herself through difficult situations. Her methods, while occasionally getting her into trouble with her superiors, serve as a foil and actually complement that of her partner Miyuki, leading many to describe her partnership with Miyuki as the "Super Combo".

• Action Girl: She and Miyuki are directly involved in almost every case in the series. The people of Tokyo even begin to refer to them as Bokutou Precinct's "Super Duo". And this is even more the case in the movie.
• Animal Lover: Shares this trait with Miyuki; in fact, she might've outrun Miyuki in their first meeting with each other if Natsumi hadn't stopped to dote on a cat she narrowly missed on the road.
• Badass Biker: Is among the best bikers depicted in the series^note  Ken and Daimaru are both better than her, and she often puts her expert handling skills to good use in chasing traffic offenders, usually by cornering them with the help of Miyuki.
• Big Damn Heroes: Pulls off several, usually with the help of Miyuki.
• Big Eater: So much so that when she was temporarily transferred out of Bokutou Station, the station cafeteria ended up with too many leftovers as the operators had gotten used to her ordering extra servings!
• Boisterous Bruiser: She's an energetic tomboy with super strength, who's rowdy and always up for some action. Except for when it comes to Strike Man.
• Brains and Brawn: The brawn to Miyuki's brains. She's strong enough to physically lift cars, and while she's not a full-on idiot, she's an impulsive woman who generally relies on her instincts.
• Calling Your Attacks: Is prone to this, especially in response to Strike Man's attacks.
• Charles Atlas Superpower: TO THE MAX!! See the Effortless Amazonian Lift entry.
• Cool Bike: Her Honda Motocompo.
• Cowboy Cop: Shows shades of this, due to her brashness, although she is still generally rule-abiding.
• Cute Bruiser: People who do not know her are often shocked when she displays her near-superhuman level of strength, and it never fails to impress those who already know.
• Drives Like Crazy: While she is an expert biker, she tends to drive a car as if it is a motorcycle, leading to rather hilarious situations, to say the least.
• Dub Name Change: In the French and European Spanish dub of the OVA's and 1st season, her name was Olivia, but the French manga used the original Japanese names and so did the French dub of the movie due to it being dubbed by a different company
• Effortless Amazonian Lift: In the "Run, Strike Man, Run!" episode, she hefted the Motocomp onto her shoulders and ran up a flight of stairs with it! A feat which left Strike Man in awe of "her gluttonous biceps". While a later episode showed she's strong enough to physically lift parked cars and shove them out of "No Parking" zones!
• Elites Are More Glamorous: Between the 2nd and 3rd season, Natsumi was stationed with the TMPD under the Special Assault Team.
• Embarrassing Nickname: Strike Man insists on referring to her as: "The Infamous Homerun Girl", which annoys the hell out of her. It eventually sticks, as episode 25 shows that even the media has begun to refer to her the same way.
• Fair Cop: Natsumi's been hit on several times, but only has eyes for Kachou and, much later, Toukairin.
• Heavy Sleeper: Is notoriously difficult to wake up, and is the major reason why she is almost always late for work.
• Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Miyuki.
• Hyperactive Metabolism: It's implied that her eating habits are the source of her immense strength. And in one episode when the station adapted changes that included a light eating menu, Natsumi suffered withdrawal.
• Improbable Aiming Skills: Downplayed compared to Miyuki, but she does have a surprising ability to throw things with amazing accuracy.
  • Episode 21 shows she can shoot just as well in the traditional manner, where she's able to snipe an entire team of snipers from the Special Assault Team, with her first shot landing on the team leader's scope.
• I Need a Freaking Drink: While not an alcoholic per se, she is still prone to getting completely hammered once she starts hitting the bottle, which has often gotten her in trouble at work.
• Likes Older Men: Natsumi's got it pretty bad for Kachou and hits on him at every opportunity, despite being nearly twice her age (though you couldn't tell by looking at him). And while her heart is set on Kachou, she isn't above flirting with Detective Tokuno either, who's almost 10 years older than she is and Happily Married.
• Lovely Angels: With Miyuki.
• Meet Cute: Her first meeting with her new partner results in Miyuki pulling her over for reckless driving.
• Motor Mouth: Tends to happen whenever she's around the Chief. Her apology for being late for her first day of work is especially infamous.
• No Indoor Voice: One of her defining characteristics, especially in the dubs.
• One of the Boys: Right down to regularly competing with her fellow officers in arm wrestling contests, during her lunch break. And hadn't lost once, until Toukairin proved to be her match.
• Red Oni, Blue Oni: Red to Miyuki's blue.
• Running Gag: Her chronic tardiness. To the point when she realized on one occasion that she actually ran out of excuses for being late for work!
• Shipper on Deck: She and the rest of the precinct fully support the idea of Miyuki and Nakajima hooking up. They've have even set them up on dates to try to get things going between them.
• Single Woman Seeks Good Man: It's no secret that she's crazy about Kachou and flirts with him every chance she gets. Sadly, in episode 33, he reveals why he doesn't reciprocate her feelings:
  Kachou: (aloud, to himself) "You're a good girl, Tsujimoto... If only I were 20 years younger..."
  • Her relationship with Tokairin does eventually become this. Although at first she sees him as an annoyance and is upset that he's able to match her in strength (and eating), she falls for him when she sees how committed he is to his duty to save people's lives.
• Super-Strength: In addition to the Effortless Amazonian Lift entry, Natsumi is able to act as the "emergency brake" for their patrol car, by opening the passenger side door and skidding her heels against the asphalt.
• Tomboy and Girly Girl: Tomboy to Miyuki's girly girl.
• Vomit Discretion Shot: When she puked right at the inspector during a police station inspection.

The other protagonist of the series, Miyuki is also a police officer stationed in the Traffic Section of Bokutou Station. Unlike her partner Natsumi, Miyuki is a calm, collected, and mild-tempered person, although she is equally passionate about her work as Natsumi. Not as strong as Natsumi, Miyuki prefers to use her intellect to solve cases. An expert in anything mechanical or electronic, she is the one who drives and maintains the patrol car which the duo uses. Coupled with her excellent planning skills, she forms a great partnership with Natsumi.

• Action Girl: She's the other half of Bokutou Precinct's "Super Duo". While she may not have Natsumi's muscle, she's an excellent driver, an even better mechanic, is highly intelligent, and a whiz with computers.
• Animal Lover: Shares this trait with Natsumi.
• Badass Bookworm: She's a very intelligent woman who's good with machines, and while she doesn't have Natsumi's raw power, she's certainly no pushover.
• Badass Driver: Is more or less the best driver in the series, and consistently make use of her handling skills, augmented by her special customizations, to maneuver her patrol car in ways that shock unwitting traffic offenders.
• Berserk Button: Never ever harm "The Today" (her patrol car), or bad mouth it, and above all, don't tinker with it. She takes that personally. She also doesn't like it when anyone steals from her.
• Beware the Nice Ones: While Natsumi generally appears fiercer than Miyuki, even she admits that Miyuki is the scarier of the two.
• Big Damn Heroes: Pulls off several, usually with the help of Natsumi.
• Braids of Action: Of the single braid variety.
• Brains and Brawn: The brains to Natsumi's brawn. She's a very good mechanic, a computer whiz, and an excellent planner. Naturally, she prefers to rely on her intellect to get things done.
• By-the-Book Cop: While she is usually a stickler for rules and regulations, she occasionally allows herself to bend some of them to get her job done.
  • Her mentality is such that on one occasion when her superior forbade her to continue working on a particular case, she prepared a resignation letter so that she could continue to work on the said case.
• Cannot Spit It Out: Despite it being common knowledge among her friends and colleagues, she still finds it difficult to express her love to Ken.
• Cool Car: Miyuki and Natsumi's Honda Today mini-patrol car, which Miyuki retrofitted with a larger (and then re-bored) dual-overhead-cam engine, a turbocharger and a nitrous-oxide booster.
  • There were stock turbo Todays (distinguished by the air intakes on the hood), but they were still limited to 660 cc displacement to comply with the kei car regs. And they definitely didn't have overpressure meters.
• Dub Name Change: In the French dub and European Spanish dub of the OVA's and 1st season, her name was Laura, but the French manga used the original Japanese names and so did the French dub of the movie due to it being dubbed by a different company
• Everyone Can See It: The whole damn precinct knows that she and Nakajima are crazy for each other and fully support the idea of them being together. Except neither one can bring themselves to say it. Natsumi and the others have even set them up on dates to try to get things going between them, but to no avail.
• Fair Cop: Ken certainly thinks so. One notable time was the occasion she donned a red dress during an undercover operation.
• Feminine Women Can Cook: Is depicted as an excellent cook.
• Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak: While she's a Yamato Nadeshiko, she works as a policewoman and is a computer whiz and a skilled mechanic.
• Heroic BSoD: Is prone to these because she does not like change. She will often snap out of it when inspiration hits and she finds a new project to work on.
• Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Natsumi.
• Improbable Aiming Skills: During times when she needs to display force, she will tend to make use of her vast collection of airsoft guns, which she is excellent in handling (such as shooting at a moving vehicle while she is driving).
• Interdisciplinary Sleuth: Although she is technically a traffic cop, her vast knowledge and excellent operation planning skills is highly valued by her superiors, who occasionally assign her to handle cases outside her usual job scope.

• Lovely Angels: With Natsumi.
• Made of Iron: Between herself, Natsumi, and Nakajima, Miyuki is the only one who never suffers any kind of broken bone or similar injury on the job. Even after she and another car fall off a cliff, she splints the other driver's broken leg before leaving to search for help. Other than that, the worst thing she ever faces is a sprained wrist.
• Omniglot: Official information mentions that she can speak English aside from Japanese, but the former is rarely used in the original Japanese voice tracks of the anime and game.
• Red Oni, Blue Oni: Miyuki is the reserved one of the duo, as opposed to Natsumi's brash impulsiveness.
• Single Woman Seeks Good Man: She's already found one, it's just that both of them are too shy to confess how they feel. In an episode of "Fast & Furious" (season 2), Ken comes close to actually proposing to her, though he chickens out at the last second. Miyuki understood what he was trying to say and tells him she'll wait for him.
• Team Mom: She certainly has her moments of this, being arguably the most levelheaded of the group.
• Tomboy and Girly Girl: Girly Girl to Natsumi's tomboy.
• Tranquil Fury: Usually in the form of the silent treatment (with Ken), and twice threatening to resign in order to pursue a case on her own.
• Twice Shy: With Ken.
• Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: She's deathly afraid of ghosts, monsters, and other unexplained phenomena in general.
• Wrench Wench: Is one of the best mechanics in the series, and is responsible for the maintenance and customization of not only the mini-patrol car which she and Natsumi use, but also Natsumi's Moto-compo. Her abilities also extend to electronic devices and can often be seen tinkering on various gadgets in her free time.
• Yamato Nadeshiko: She fits every single detail in one way or another. She's an Aloof Dark-Haired Girl in looks, soft-spoken but not a doormat, good at housework, and extremely dedicated to her mission and ideals... which revolve around her policewoman work as well as her machine-handling skills.

A motorcycle patrol officer stationed in Bokutou Station Traffic Section, Ken is one of the best biker in the series, which enables him to stop most traffic offenders single-handedly. Strong, tough and handsome, he is popular among his colleagues in the Traffic Section and is good friends with most of them, especially with Miyuki, of which he has romantic feelings with. However, like Miyuki, he is extremely shy when it comes to expressing feelings and thus their romance progresses at a very slow pace.

• Badass Biker: Badass enough to earn himself the moniker "White Hawk of Bokutou".
• Butt-Monkey: More so than anyone else in the series.
• By-the-Book Cop: Takes rules and regulations seriously.
• Cannot Spit It Out: Often blames himself for his incorrigible shyness.
• Covert Pervert: While he is portrayed as relatively pure-hearted, he is not averse to indulging in fantasies occasionally, especially when it involves Miyuki.
• A Day in the Limelight: Receives a few, usually in conjunction with his father and step-mother.
• Dub Name Change: In the French dub and European Spanish dub of the OVA's and 1st season, his name was Tanguy, but the manga used the original Japanese names and so did the French dub of the movie due to it being dubbed by a different company.
• Fair Cop: Miyuki certainly thinks so.
• Hopeless with Tech: He is the one half of Bokuto Station's Low-tech Combi alongside Det. Tokuno, as Yoriko puts it, to the point he refers to Shift key as "Shaft." Thankfully, with Miyuki's personal tutoring, he can at least send mails now. That he first uses to invite her to dinner.
• Interrupted Declaration of Love: In times when he finally mustered the courage to declare his love to Miyuki, something will invariably ruin his plans.
• Made of Iron: This guy has taken more than his fair share of spills and accidents on his bike. Most of the time he's able to just get up and walk it off. In the anime he never has anything more serious than a broken bone.
• Maybe Ever After: By the end of Full Throttle's final episode, he's no closer to hooking up with Miyuki than he was at the beginning. The closest he comes to saying it is during Fast & Furious (season 2), when he tries proposing to her, but gets coldfeet at the last second. Miyuki understood what he was trying to say and replies that she'll wait for him.
• Red Baron: See above.
• Scary Shiny Glasses: Subverted. Ken rarely removes his aviator shades, which coupled with his large size makes him seem scary. In reality, he's a big softy.^note  It turns out Ken is much scarier without his glasses. On the rare occasions he removes them on-camera, we see he has tiny beady eyes.
• Twice Shy: With Miyuki.
• Will They or Won't They?: Much of the series focuses on whether he'll ever work up the courage to propose to Miyuki, or even ask her out on a simple date. Sadly, despite having the support and encouragement of the entire precinct, as well as Miyuki reciprocating his feelings, he chickens out every time.

Originally a dispatcher who is later assigned as a patrol officer with Aoi as her partner, Yoriko is an incorrigible gossip who likes to poke her nose in anything that happens in Bokutou Station, although her tendency to misinterpret events often lead to embarrassment and complications. As if to complement her habits, she is excellent in gathering data which turns out to be useful in cracking several cases. A cheerful but nonetheless clumsy person, Yoriko is not as active in chasing criminals like Natsumi or Miyuki, focusing instead on providing community service, though her extraordinary luck sometimes get her involved in cases which she normally avoids.

• Born Lucky: Zigzagged. See both The Fool and The Load entries.
• Brainy Brunette: While not quite as good as Miyuki, Yoriko's a whiz with computers and excels at gathering intel. The problem is, she mainly uses her talents for spreading gossip and setting up gambling pools around the precinct.
• A Day in the Limelight: She gets several throughout the series, which either focus on her incredible luck on the job, or her lack thereof when it comes to her love life.
• Dub Name Change: In the French dub and European Spanish dubs of the OVA's and 1st season, her name was Anna, but the manga used the original Japanese names and so did the French dub of the movie due to it being dubbed by a different company
• Fair Cop: Interestingly, she seem to be able to attract middle-aged perverts and teenagers only, much to her dismay.
• The Fool: Is notorious for being extremely lucky at times, especially on how she became top of her cohort during her days in the Metropolitan Police Department Academy.
• Good Samaritan: It's repeatedly shown that she'll drop whatever she's doing to help those in need, even if she's off-duty. From helping kids and senior citizens cross busy crosswalks, to making classroom visits to promote public safety, or simply picking up litter off the street. Yoriko has even received commendations for her commitment to public service.
• Gossipy Hens: Is the primary gossip-monger in the series, and is often Bound and Gagged by her fellow colleagues if she takes her gossip too far (or gets it wrong, for that matter)
• Knowledge Broker: Noted in the Brainy Brunette entry and her character summation.
• The Load: Her luck can turn against her as well, leading her to situations which she is unable to handle and becoming a liability instead.
• Old Maid: She's fast approaching her mid 20's and still single. A fact which her parents berate her for (over the phone), during one of the later episodes. Prior to that, a class of highschool students made fun of her for the same reason, embarrassing Yoriko to the point of tearing up.
• Nerds Are Sexy: She may be loveless, but she's far from unattractive. It's just that the ones who keep hitting on her or either too young to interest her, or too old to appeal to her.
• The Rival: In the eyes of her former classmate Chie she is definitely this, almost solely out of bruised pride due to Yoriko's aforementioned dumb luck streak.
• Scary Shiny Glasses: Is prone to this whenever she is up to something devious.
• Single Woman Seeks Good Man: With added pressure by her parents, since she's 24 going on 25.
• Tender Tears: Yoriko is very sensitive:
  • The car chase near the end of the final episode in season 1, culminates in a crash. When Aoi gets out, to check on the passengers of the car they were pursuing, the driver rolls down the window and shoots her. Yoriko radios Natsumi and Miyuki about the incident and tearfully asks them to catch the car thieves, for Aoi's sake.
  • During the aforementioned class visit, she was explaining the duties of the traffic division, but was repeatedly interrupted by the students grilling her about her love life. Once it became apparent that she was still single, they began teasing her, embarrassing Yoriko to the point of the teacher reprimanding them for their behavior.

A police officer who is transferred to Bokutou Station during the start of the 1st season of the anime adaptation, Aoi is a trans woman who discovered her gender identity while crossdressing as part of an undercover operation. Due to her past experiences, she excels in undercover operations, although being in the Traffic Section, her abilities are rarely employed.

An extremely feminine person, Aoi also excels in many traditionally feminine skills, such as flower-arrangement and cooking, which led Natsumi and Yoriko to comment that she is more feminine than them. She becomes fast friends with her fellow colleagues after they got over their initial confusion over her gender identity, especially with Yoriko who she is partnered with.

• Beware the Nice Ones: Please don't make this lady mad.
• A Day in the Limelight: Receives a few throughout the series, usually centering on her gender identity, either for laughs or for drama.
• Comedic Underwear Exposure: Is a frequent victim of this; things get awkward whenever anyone sees her boxer shorts.
• Dub Name Change: In the French dub of the OVA's and 1st season, her name was Alex, but the manga used the original Japanese names and so did the movie due to it being dubbed by a different company, and an early Italian dub her name was Mila, and despite the European Spanish dub using the early French dub's name changes, Aoi (and a few others) kept her original Japanese name.
• Fair Cop: So fair, that she gains more suitors than the other women at Bokuto Precinct. Which usually leads to predictable results.
• Feminine Women Can Cook: Her skill even impresses Miyuki.
• Incompatible Orientation: At least two episodes show that Aoi has accounts on different online dating sites, but it always ends the same: Whenever any of her online dates asks to meet in person and find out she's biologically male, they call things off with her.
• Let's Get Dangerous!: Is usually so docile that makes people forget that she is still biologically male, which makes her displays of combat prowess during dire situations awesome.
• LGBT Awakening: Aoi's former police partner describes her as an undercover officer who "went native" after spending time crossdressing to act as bait to lure out muggers and gropers, coming out as a trans woman by the time the series begins.
• Team Mom: Unquestionably the most feminine member of the main squad and is usually the first to support them no matter what the situation.
• Unsettling Gender-Reveal: Discussed several times during the series, particularly during Aoi's introductory episode:
  • When the rest of the precinct first found out that she's trans, it created a dispute over which locker room she should use. They also didn't know how to address her (i.e. "male" or "female"), though Aoi understood and said she was fine with either.
  • Likewise, each time any of Aoi's potential love interests find out she's biologically male, they're left feeling awkward about it. Though they're usually polite about calling things off.
  Miyuki: "He actually looks better in a skirt..."
• Yamato Nadeshiko: Fits practically all attributes of this trope (except having two "X" chromosomes), even more so than Miyuki.
  Yoriko: "She's girlier than any of us!"

The section chief of Bokutou Station Traffic Section, addressed simply by his title Kachou, is the direct superior of the protagonists in the series. A calm and gallant person, the Chief is fairly lenient of his subordinates and is willing to let them do as they please, so long as they do not neglect their duties as police officers. He is very proud of them and places great faith in their capabilities and is in return well-liked and respected by them.

• Chekhov's Gun: One episode has him spending a day off by making a trip to the Tokyo Tower to meet with an old friend, who fails to show up. Which is revisited in "The Movie", where his friend turns out to be the main antagonist.
• A Day in the Limelight: Not as many as Aoi and Yoriko, but one of his spotlight episodes has a major impact during "The Movie" (see the Chekhov's Gun entry).
• Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": Is only addressed by his title. Which is his real name, only in different kanji.
• It's Not You, It's Me: Kachou finally reveals that he doesn't reciprocate Natsumi's feelings for him, because he feels he's too old for her. Though he admits (to himself) that he would've accepted, were he 20 years younger.
• Older Than They Look: Despite being about fifty, he looks as if he is still in his mid-thirties.
• Punny Name: In the 2nd season, it is revealed his name is actually ''Kachou'', albeit written with different kanji.
• Reasonable Authority Figure: He's learned to trust Miyuki's hunches and will often provide leeway for her to follow up on them. At one point, going so far as to stake his career on Miyuki's judgement, when Senior Superintendent Arizuka questioned his decision.
• Red Baron: He's known as "The Lion of Bokuto Precinct" for his proficiency in Kendo. After Toukairin spars with him, he acknowledges that his reputation is well-deserved.

Initially a disaffected high school student with no clear direction in life, Saori became inspired by Natsumi and Miyuki after a chance encounter with them and aspired to be a police officer thereafter. She succeeded and joined the Traffic Section in Bokutou Station during the start of the 2nd season. An energetic and enthusiastic person, Saori was initially disappointed when the Traffic Section did not live up to her expectations, although she quickly got over that when she realised that police officers are still humans after all and that their work is indeed generally mundane. Nevertheless, she remains very serious about her work and looks up upon Natsumi and Miyuki as her role models.

• Alliterative Name: Saori Saga.
• Ascended Extra: From a high school student who appears infrequently in the 1st season to a police officer with regular appearances in the 2nd season, and mind you this only occurs in the anime, she a minor character at best in the manga.
• By-the-Book Cop: She's a stickler for following proper procedure about everything. But she eventually shapes up to become an outstanding officer as a result and, eventually, transfers from Bokuto with a glowing service record.
• Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life: Initially during her introduction in the series. She got better with the help of Natsumi and Miyuki.
• Dub Name Change: In the French dub of the 1st season, her name was Élodie, however the French translation of the manga kept the Japanese names.
• Fangirl: Of both Miyuki and Natsumi, who inspired her to follow in their footsteps by becoming a traffic patrol officer.
• Genki Girl: Remains so throughout the series.
• Oh, Crap!: She gets an epic one when Miyuki tells her to "Take the wheel!" during her first assignment.
• Put on a Bus: She did make a guest appearance in Full Throttle, though.

A mountain rescue specialist from Toyama Prefectural Police, Shouji is a senior police officer who made his first appearance late in the 1st season when he got involved in the Tokyo Tower incident and was later temporarily assigned to Bokutou Station as a rescue instructor. A handsome and laid-back person, he had a friendly rivalry with Natsumi once it became apparent that he is the only person capable of surpassing her in terms of strength and appetite, which eventually blossomed into love.

• The Ace: The reason why Natsumi initially disliked him.
• Big Eater: Which often results in eating competitions with Natsumi.
• Canon Foreigner: Only appears in the anime adaptation.
• Commuting on a Bus: Appears in barely a quarter of all episodes, though he will always provide some form of assistance whenever he appears, inadvertently or otherwise.
• A Day in the Limelight: Tends to hog the limelight during his appearances.
• Dub Name Change: In the French dub of the 1st season, his name was Frank, this isn't the case with the movie due to it being dubbed by a different company, and despite the European Spanish dub using the early French dub's name changes, he kept his Japanese name
• Friend to All Living Things: Is excellent at handling and taming animals.
• Put on a Bus: See the What Happened to the Mouse? entry.
• Trademark Favorite Food: Bananas.
• What Happened to the Mouse?: Toukairin's last appearance, excluding "The Movie", is during one of the later episodes of "Fast & Furious" (season 2). After that, he's not seen anymore, but gets a brief mention in one of the last episodes of Full Throttle (season 3).

A senior detective stationed in the Criminal Investigation Section of Bokutou Station, Inspector Tokuno is good friends with the section chief of the Traffic Section and will often stop by the Traffic Section, either to visit the chief or to request for logistical assistance in whatever cases he is handling at the moment. Like the chief, Inspector Tokuno recognizes the capabilities of Natsumi and Miyuki and is generally willing to allow them to participate in cracking his ongoing cases.

He is the only police officer in Bokutou Station known to be married.

An officer from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Headquarters in charge of conducting inspections in every station under its jurisdiction, Senior Superintendent Arizuka is feared by station chiefs and their subordinates alike for the thoroughness of his inspections, which earned him the nickname "King of Hades". In reality however, he proves to be willing to overlook minor infractions of regulations among police officers as long as they display actual performance. In particular, he became impressed by Bokutou Station after witnessing the performance of its officers and would occasionally recommend it to handle cases which are usually outside its jurisdiction.

• Internal Affairs: Of the more sympathetic variety.
• Reasonable Authority Figure:
  • While he is extremely strict in his evaluations, he is nonetheless right with every infraction that he calls out. He also recognizes that the Bokutou Precinct's Officers, while sloppy, are nonetheless good at their jobs.
  • He's willing to break the rules themselves if he deems a threat serious enough. When Kachou asked for 150 police cars to blockade the roads (to catch some renegade cops) but could only get 100, Arizuka ended up putting his own career on the line to get him a full 200 by lying to headquarters. He also breaks protocol and tells the officers to use civilian phone lines, as the renegade cops were using their own radio system to spy on them.
• Recurring Character: Usually when he shows up, things get serious. Sometimes this is used to comedic effect.
• Red Baron: He's referred to as the "King of Hades" for conducting surprise inspections and issuing harsh reprimands to precincts that don't measure up to standards.
• Scary Shiny Glasses: His glasses have a tendency to shine whenever he is in his inspection mode.

Another officer from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Headquarters, Assistant Inspector Kinoshita usually appears in Bokutou Station to relay information on cases or orders from the headquarters. Like Senior Superintendent Arizuka, she appears as a cold and no-nonsense officer who adheres strongly to rules and regulations, although it is just simply her way of taking her work seriously and she is sincerely concerned about the well-being of the officers under her.

• Alliterative Name: Kaoruko Kinoshita.
• Canon Foreigner: Only appears in the anime
• Defrosting Ice Queen: Her demeanor noticeably mellowed after several interactions with Bokutou Station.
• Dub Name Change: In the French dub of the 1st season, her name was Claudia, but not in the the movie since that was dubbed by a different company
• Fair Cop: Is mentioned to have participated in a Color Guard Parade during her younger days before.

The only daughter of the rich Sagamiono family, Chie entered the Metropolitan Police Department Academy in hopes of winning a suitable, preferably rich, husband and making herself a bit more popular to society, earning questions from some of the officers as to why a rich girl would join the police force. She had lost her chance to graduate on top of her class when Yoriko earned it via luck, marking her as Chie's rival.

• Always Second Best: Ended up being this to Yoriko during her academy days, by pure luck. She's very bitter about it.
• Competition Freak: Usually with Yoriko. It inevitably leads to the rest of the gang getting swept up in their one-sided rivalry.
• Cool Car: She uses her family's financial position to use a modified Porsche 911 outfitted with sirens and a radio for police use. It was donated by the Sagamionos to the unnamed precient where Chie works in.
• Death Glare: Usually sports a condescending scowl in the presence of others.
• Femme Fatale: In her introductory episode, she cites the trope as part of her intent to raise her appeal.
• It's All About Me: Very much so. She isn't above flaunting her prominent social status in having attained her lofty position among the ranks, and her ego is easily bruised by Yoriko's dumb luck streak; thus she is always seeking to prove herself the better officer for it.
• MRS Degree: While she's a fairly competent police officer, her only reason to become one is to be more attractive for a potential husband.
• Pyrrhic Victory: Every single one of her appearances ends this way: she manages to beat Yoriko in their competitions, yet Yoriko ends up getting a bigger prize later.
• Rich Bitch: She's not a malicious person per se, just too competitive and arrogant for her own good.
• The Rival: Mostly Played for Laughs, she sees herself as this to Yoriko.
• Second Place Is for Losers: She firmly believes this, which is why she has a very big chip on her shoulder over Yoriko.

The father of Ken, Daimaru is a motorcycle enthusiast who still regularly rides his bike with great skill despite being in his mid-sixties and having a bad eye. During the 1st season, he moved to Tokyo to open a motorcycle shop and to stay closer to Ken. When he first met Natsumi and Miyuki, he initially thought Natsumi was Ken's Love Interest until he realized that Miyuki was the better choice. A widower, he met Sena Wakabayashi during one of his biking trips and became romantically involved with her and eventually married her.

He currently runs a motorcycle shop named "Zapper" with Sena in Sumida Ward where Bokutou Station is located.

• Badass Biker: Is the person responsible for teaching Ken his motorcycle skills, after all.
• Dub Name Change: In the French dub of the 1st season, his name was Robert, but not in the French translation of the manga
• Eye Scream: Happened to Daimaru in the past, and it's the reason why he retired from competitive racing. An episode in the first season is dedicated to him finding his old mechanic, who considered this as My Greatest Failure, and helping him out.
• May–December Romance: There is an over forty-year age difference between him and Sena.
• Strong Family Resemblance: It's easy to see where Ken got his huge size and his trademark sunglasses.

A sports car enthusiast who enjoys driving along coastal highways, Sena met Daimaru on one such trip and became attracted to him and eventually married him. She is genuinely concerned about the well-being of her step-son Ken – whom she is six years younger than – and strove to make a good impression with him during their initial meeting. She quickly detected the relationship between Ken and Miyuki and will often attempt to further their relationship.

She currently runs the "Zapper" motorcycle shop with Daimaru.

• Mama Bear: She takes her role as stepmom to Kenny very seriously, often bordering on My Beloved Smother during their first few meetings. Despite his initial reservations, Ken quickly warms up to her.
• May–December Romance: She is younger than Ken! It's actually touched upon in her first episode, as Ken at first had huge problems about it (he liked Sena as a person but couldn't see her as a possible stepmom) and it takes him a short while to warm up to her.
• Not What It Looks Like: Frequently invokes this on her step-son, since being his legal stepmom she feels the need to take care of him from time to time. This includes showing up in his apartment unannounced and acting like a housewife. Unfortunately, due to her age, she's frequently mistaken for his girlfriend.

She's also not above Yoriko-esque levels of shenanigans at times and often joins in on Natsumi and Yoriko's latest plots to get Ken and Miyuki together.

A former police officer turned Shinto priest^*Technically, "oshou" means Buddhist monk or priest, but his shrine is undeniably Shinto., he manages a shrine in Sumida Ward and still keeps in contact with the officers in Bokutou Station, offering friendly advice or assistance when needed. Incidentally, he is the uncle of the Traffic Section Chief, Kachou.

• Badass Driver: Is probably the only driver in the series who managed to outmanoeuvre Miyuki.
• Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": Is only addressed as Oshou-san, or Mister Monk. Even "Fox" is just a codename he adopts.

A costumed self-proclaimed defender of justice, Strike Man often loiters around Sumida Ward, using baseball-related items to exact his brand of "justice" against (generally) minor violators of law, such as humiliating people who litter on streets or deflating tires of illegally parked vehicles. The police in Bokutou Station generally sees him as a nuisance as he tends to obstruct their duties. He has a certain fixation with Natsumi after she repeatedly "defeated" him by deflecting his baseball attacks, and calls her "Home-Run Girl" as a result.

• Ascended Extra: He shows up more often in the anime than he does in the manga.
• Calling Your Attacks: From pitching balls to puncturing tires of illegally parked cars with his screwdriver.
• Defeat Means Respect: Lampshaded in the 25th episode ("Run Strike Man, Run!") when he proudly declares himself to be Natsumi's nemesis, after witnessing her run up a flight of stairs while carrying her motocomp on her shoulders.

A middle-aged lady who is often seen riding a 50cc motor scooter, the Scooter Mama is obsessed with sales and discounts and will use every method to reach her desired stores, even if it means flouting every traffic regulation in the book, much to the annoyance of the officers in the Traffic Section, who calls her "Bokutou's specialty".

• Crossdressing Voice: In the English dub, she is played – very obviously – by a man.
• A Day in the Limelight: Her introductory episode is focused on her scooter getting stolen, and she practically forces Natsumi and Miyuki (much to their chagrin) to get it back.
