Katee Sackhoff is going back to the future.
The Battlestar Galactica alumna is set to create and star in the evolutionary drama Rain, our sister site Deadline reports.
Described as a futuristic parable that examines the long-term effects of global warming and other ominous events, Rain will star Sackhoff as a soldier who explores the future of the human species.
Sackhoff also will write and executive-produce the project — which is currently being shopped around and has not yet found a home — alongside Continuum‘s Tom Rowe. Her recent TV credits include Longmire, CSI and 24.

I thought the messengers premiered on April 17, has it been moved for sure, or is the july date the finale??
July 10th should be the finale of The Messengers, if the 13 episodes air weekly in one continuous season from April 17th.
You are correct! It’s been fixed.
Sackhoff, writing acting and executive producing – this sounds like too much for one person. But good luck! Perhaps she feels that this is the only way that she can do an interesting project.
She’s returning to TV in a show she’s help create and write?!! THIS IS AWESOME!!!! And I’m so glad she’s back in genre programming; I loved Longmire, but she’s a genre gal.
Dunno if you’ve heard but Longmire isn’t dead. Netflix picked it up, so you don’t have to refer to it in the past tense anymore!
And with that my reason for watching longmire goes o
What channel is Rain intended to be on? I’ve read the article twice and don’t see anything regarding it’s distribution.
Sounds ok, but I just hope this doesn’t mean that Vic has to die or leave Wyoming. That Would SUCK!
For real!
Battlestar Galactica was set 150,000 years in the past, not the future
I would like to see Katee Sackhoff and Kadee Strickland playing sisters with some kind of intense rivalry.
Great comment Sherl!
Yes, the Battlestar Galactica alum is set to guest-star on USA Network’s legal hit as an adversary to Mike and Harvey, I also wait for the episodes to continue.
