Coventry Cathedral, England

ruins of coventry cathedral englandThe Cathedral at Coventry, England, once thought to be among the most beautiful in England, was destroyed by German bombs on November 14, 1940. Some of the 14th Century walls remain, along with the bell tower, which survived relatively unscathed. What was once the interior of the cathedral is now a nice park with benches where tourists and residents of the city can take their lunch in the historic and pleasant surroundings. A new cathedral was built starting in 1952 and is directly adjacent to the ruins.
