A guide to Bali’s most picturesque attractions!
Surrounded by nothing but azure blue waters of the Indian Ocean, Bali is one of the prettiest island destinations in Asia, visited by lakhs of holidaymakers every year. The Indonesian island is blessed with some incredible beaches, spectacular mountains, unique rice terraces and ancient temples. The islands of Bali stand alone in their lushness and endless beauty.

Tanah Lot
This place is every photographer’s dream! Tanah Lot is basically a rock formation, home to ancient Hindu pilgrimage temple, Pura Tanah Lot. An icon of Bali, this temple is a prominent tourist attraction. These ancient sea temples look nothing short of magical, and the view is surreal at sunset.

Nusa Dua
Nusa Dua is a resort region that was set up in the 1970s in the southern part of Bali. You’ll find most of the prominent five-star resorts here. Spread over a huge area, the whole place is dotted with towering palm trees, wild mangroves and orchids. The golden sand against blue seawater looks absolutely incredible.

Padang Padang Beach
The beach was already famous but people started crowding the place in overwhelming numbers after Padang Padang Beach featured in the famous Hollywood flick Eat, Pray, Love, starring Julia Roberts. Also known as Taplau, the beach is located in the city of Padang in West Sumatra. It’s a prominent surfing point in Bali.

Tegalalang
Bali is famous for its terraced paddy fields and Tegalalang is the best place to experience these. Located close to Ubud, Tegalalang is an ideal escape for those looking for peace and solitude. There are several pretty coffee shops in the region, overlooking the paddy fields. Absolutely enchanting!

Kintamani
It is among the few hill stations on Bali island. The place is a must-visit and offers stunning views and pleasant climate. When you are here, do visit Mount Batur and Lake Batur. Adventure enthusiasts can enjoy trekking to the active volcanic mountain in the region.

Ubud
Calling Ubud the heart and soul of Bali won’t be incorrect. The stunning town of Ubud is the traditional hub of the island and is noted for its rainforest and terraced rice paddies. The town is also dotted with some beautiful Hindu temples and rock-cut shrines. This is the place where travellers come to become fully immersed in Balinese culture.

Uluwatu
This gorgeous place is prized for offering mesmerising views of sunset by the sea. Uluwatu is basically a region on the south-western tip of the Bukit Peninsula of Bali and is home to the famous Pura Luhur Uluwatu Temple. The temple is set on the edge of a cliff and the sound of waves crashing against the huge boulders is absolutely otherworldly!

Lake Bratan
One of the most beautiful lakes in Bali, Lake Bratan is home to the famous Pura Ulun Danu Bratan (an unbelievably beautiful photogenic temple). The mist hangs low here and the experience of fresh cool breeze brushing against the face is something you’ll remember for the rest of your life!
