Tim Blake Nelson Expected Another Season Of Watchmen [Podcast]

Unlike many people in the entertainment industry, Tim Blake Nelson is already back at work. The “Ballad of Buster Scruggs” and “Syriana” star is currently in Arkansas producing and starring in the independent production “Ghosts of the Ozarks.” But when he looks back over the past 12 months, what will likely pop the most is the euphoric reaction to “Watchmen,” a program that literally was close to home.

As he discusses during our conversation on the Four Quadrant podcast, Nelson felt a direct connection to Damon Lindeloff’s “remix” of the original 1986 comic series created by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. Nelson was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where the new “Watchmen” is primarily set and the 1921 Black Wall Street massacre plays a major role in the story. Nelson also shares how he found the perfect county in Oklahoma for the dialect of his character, Wade Tillman (aka Looking Glass under his mask), and how he very much expected the series to return for a second season. An unlikely outcome now based on Lindeloff’s public comments.
