PEACOCK is the most beautiful bird in this world.

The most interesting fact about the Peacock is the colorful features of this pheasant family. They can include colors of black, green, blue, gray, red, and orange. The male is a peacock, and the female is a peahen; both are peafowl. The Peacock is found in many locations including Burma, Indian, and Sri Lanka. They tend to live in locations that offer them access to low trees and plants.

Two species of peafowl are the blue, or Indian, peacock (Pavo cristatus), of India and Sri Lanka, and the green, or Javanese, peacock (P. muticus), found from Myanmar (Burma) to Java. The Congo peacock (Afropavo congensis) was discovered in 1936 after a search that began in 1913 with the finding of a single feather. Peacocks are often instantly recognizable by their large tail plumage, which can be 3 feet tall and 6 feet wide.

There are three types of peacocks, the common, or Indian, peafowl (Pavo cristatus), the green peafowl (Pavo muticus), and the Congo peafowl (Afropavo congensis).

An Indian peacock has brightly colored tail plumage fashioned with eye-shaped dots you can see when he fans out his train, and it takes him about five to six years to develop his full feather display.
