A newly released study has revealed that Bondi Beach stands as Australia’s most Instagrammable location, amassing an impressive 1.93 million hashtag mentions on the platform. Following closely in popularity are the Sydney Opera House with 1.05 million hashtagged posts and the Great Barrier Reef which has enjoyed the spotlight in 1.03 million posts. Synonymous with Sydney’s stunning coastline, Bondi Beach has long been a cherished spot among both locals and tourists, largely attributed to its pristine white sands, convenient location near Sydney, and consistent surf conditions.

The Sydney Opera House, renowned for its unique shell-like design, not only draws in over 10 million visitors annually but also serves as a significant cultural hub, hosting performances by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Ballet, thereby earning its place as the second most hashtagged location.

Coming in third, the Great Barrier Reef, known as the largest structure made by living organisms visible from space, extends its allure to over 2 million annual visitors. With 683,400 hashtagged posts, the Sydney Harbour Bridge lands in fourth place, recognized globally for its iconic architecture. Darling Harbour, just a short ferry ride from the bridge, ranks fifth with 678,100 hashtagged posts, celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere and pedestrian-friendly precinct.

Uluru, or Ayers Rock, features next in the list with 494,000 Instagram posts. This monumental sandstone formation holds great spiritual significance for many indigenous Australians. The list is rounded off with the Twelve Apostles, St Kilda Beach, The Grounds of Alexandria, and the Whitsunday Islands firmly establishing themselves among the top ten most Instagrammable places in Australia according to the study by NZCasinoClub, which relied on Instagram hashtag data from 25 popular Australian locations.
