Nicole Kidman’s ‘terrible’ Vanity Fair cover outfit has fans ‘shocked’

We’d like to get “Far and Away” from this fashion fumble.

Nicole Kidman covers Vanity Fair’s 2022 Hollywood Issue in a skimpy ensemble from Miu Miu’s much-discussed spring 2022 collection of shrunken, skin-baring schoolgirl staples.

The “Being the Ricardos” star, 54, modeled a low-slung belted miniskirt so short, it practically qualified as a belt itself, along with a matching pleated bra top that exposed miles of midriff.

The work of British stylist Katie Grand, Kidman’s collegiate-slash-coquettish cover look was finished with gray knee socks and pointy-toed loafers.

But suffice to say the magazine’s readers weren’t exactly enthused to see the perpetually glamorous screen star in a look seemingly plucked from Britney Spears’ “Baby One More Time” music video.

“She’s an accomplished actress who’s nominated for an Oscar. Why is she dressed like a school girl [sic]? Not cool,” one commented on Vanity Fair’s Instagram post of the cover, while another wrote, “Would love to hear the concept behind this…cause I don’t get it.”

“Nicole Kidman is incredible but this styling is terrible. I’m shocked she agreed to this,” a third said, while a fourth asked, “Who thought this was a good idea? The mind boggles.”

Still more perplexed Instagrammers labeled Kidman’s look “absolutely creepy,” “horrible” and “a mess.”

But her risky, ripped-from-the-runway look did find a few fans.

“Haters are gonna hate! Nicole is looking amazing!” one exclaimed on Instagram, while a Twitter user hailed her cover style as “an absolute serve.”

Kidman’s fellow celebs seem to be feeling Miu Miu’s latest creations as well; Emily Ratajkowski was among the first to wear a head-to-toe look from the collection to the 2021 CFDA Fashion Awards in November, while Hailey Baldwin models a top-and-skirt combo nearly identical to the “Moulin Rouge” star’s in the luxury label’s campaign.
