Designing More Pink & Black Jerseys For Penn State Teams

Who doesn’t love some retro uniforms?

Last week, Penn State men’s soccer announced it would become the latest Nittany Lion team to use the school’s retro colors as an alternate uniform. This decision follows in the footsteps of women’s volleyball, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball who’ve all sported pink and black in the past.

We figured that Penn State shouldn’t withhold its retro colors from the other athletic programs, so we created mockups of what some pink and black uniforms could look like for other teams.

Field Hockey

For field hockey, we kept it simple and clean. Just like men’s soccer did, we used the current uniforms as a base and color-swapped them to feature the old colors. Complimented with pink mouthguards, we think this is a pretty sweet look.

Baseball

Penn State’s baseball team would look pretty cool rocking these black uniforms with pink accents. The Penn State wordmark on the chest was replaced with “Farmer’s High School,” a tribute to the university’s original name.

Football

This is probably our most controversial design. Many Penn State fans are against any uniform if it isn’t the basic blues or road whites, but hear us out: aren’t these pretty cool?

Wrestling

Wrestling singlets always look good when they’re sleek and minimalistic. This one embraces the school’s history with the simple block “S,” an official Penn State logo that rarely gets used.

Women’s Hockey

Hockey jerseys are always a work of art, especially when they feature a classic script font on the front. Like the baseball jerseys, these reference the university’s original name in addition to the colors.

Women’s Tennis

What’s better than a pink and black uniform? Matching shoes to go with it, of course.
