When it comes to hockey goalies, the masks and their designs can be as unique as the netminders themselves. What are some of your favorite mask designs? Two masks that I found awesome were before my time, but boy were they sweet: Murray Bannerman Gary Bromley

Currently, some of my favorites are: Jonathan Quick: Total homer pick but I like it because it goes well with the whole royalty image and the helmet reminds me of Byron Dafoe's mask from the mid-90s back when he was one of our goalies. Martin Brodeur: It's just a classic. Anyways for some I liked growing up: John Vanbiesbrouck: His masks were usually pretty awesome, but this one was the best one he ever wore. The colors were sharp and the design was simple, but captivating. This thing rightly deserves to be in the HHOF. Felix Potvin: Another homer pick, but his whole 'cat' inspired mask went really well with the purple, silver and black color scheme we had back in the early 2000s.

Johan Hedberg's "Moose" mask is to this day one of my favorite designs. Just a cool story, that he still had to wear his Manitoba Moose mask while playing in the NHL. Plus. it has a lot of nostalgia for me. the 2001-2002 Eastern Conference Final run was my favorite non-cup winning year for the Penguins. Just had an absolute blast following that team. Saw so many amazing games.

Cujo's was always so awesome.
Who was it that always did the Godzilla masks? Olaf Kolzig I think. I looked it, he has sooo many. So Google him.

If you remember, NHL 97 had a pretty cool credit feature where you could view the masks used up to the 96-97 season.

Homer pick, but Bernie Parent's Mask of Eternal Death is so iconic, it made the cover of Time.

Gillies Gratton. Allegedly used to growl at opponents and may have come up with such excuses to not play in games such as, the Moon was not in line with Jupiter, his leg was bothering him as a result of a wound he received in a previous life in the Franco-Prussian War.
