She had some of the most recognizable pop rock hits of the 2000s, but Ashlee Simpson has come a long way since then.
Simpson, who rose to fame alongside her sister, Jessica Simpson, and released songs like Pieces of Me and Boyfriend, has been looking very different nowadays.
The star took to Instagram recently to share some pictures of herself glammed up for an event, and she looked a far cry from the blonde bombshell who was riding high in the charts in the early 2000s.
Simpson posed for fans in a checkered shirt dress, and showed off her strawberry blonde hair as she flashed a sultry look at the camera.
The singer has transformed herself since she first stepped onto the scene with her iconic emo-esque look almost two decades ago in 2004. Simpson released her debut album, Autobiography, the same year.
Due in part to the huge success of her reality show at the time, it became the highest-selling debut album by a female artist that year. In the years that followed, she went on to release two more albums – I Am Me in October 2005 and Bittersweet World in April 2008.
However, her success was relatively short-lived. As a result of her 2008 album failing to capture the attention of her previous records, Simpson stepped out of the spotlight and practically disappeared for a decade.
She eventually returned in 2018 when she starred in a reality show with her new husband, Evan Ross, the son of legendary Motown star Diana Ross.
She first began dating Ross in July 2013 and the couple moved quickly, becoming engaged and married by the following year. The happy couple share two kids, a son named Ziggy Blu and a daughter named Jagger Snow, while Simpson also shares a son named Bronx Mowgli with her ex-husband, Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz, from whom she divorced in 2011.
Earlier this year, Simpson shared the secret to her happy marriage, telling E! News: “I just celebrate our love. Marriage takes work and understanding each other and it’s so important to stay on point and grow with one another. I’m very lucky”.
