travel tuesday : bondi beach

"though we currently live in new england, my little family is always seeking out warmer weather + inviting waters. last year we took our first trip to australia and it did not disappoint! growing up in newport beach, i didn't think anything could beat the beach + surf culture of my own hometown, but the inviting atmosphere of locals, surfers + tourists, along with stunning views, made bondi beach a forever favorite for us.

we spent most of our week on the perfect sand with our kids (along with hundreds of tourists in the height of summer -- you've been warned!), but the many cute boutiques for all things beach and numerous delicious food options dotting the main drag makes bondi a perfect beach getaway," shares minnow mama laura.

where to stay :

adina apartment bondi beach : only a few blocks from the beach, these apartment styled hotel rooms are in the heart of bondi's shopping + dining district. large rooms, a first floor pool + unique styling make it a perfect place for our family holiday.

bondi 38 : stunning views spanning across bondi beach and into the ocean, it is situated at the start of the famous bondi to bronte costal walk.

where to eat :

breakfast

harry's : the neighborhood's staple cafe, but also has delicious lunch options too!

the traditional chip shop : the line is out the door, but the authentic fish + chips are worth the wait!

fishbowl : located on bondi beach

dinner

fonda mexican bondi : delicious mexican with an australian touch!

dessert

gelato messina : every flavor is divine! you must ask to taste each one!

pasticceria papa : decadent desserts you'll still be dreaming about afterwards.

to see + do

the beach : isn't that why you're there?

north bondi children's pool : nicknamed the "mermaids' pool," this is a sheltered man-made pool that uses ocean's water with sand, but blocks off the waves and surf for timid young kids.

bondi to bronte costal walk : a famous walk along the cliffs of the coastline, which connects several of australia's most beautiful beaches. be ready for some stairs, though still a great activity with kids!
