Regal or Martha Washington Geraniums / Pelargonium x domesticum

Pelargonium x domesticum Graziosa ‘Royal Salmon’ – Also know as Pansy geraniums, this compact cultivar features deep salmon pink petals with shell pink edges and a darker maroon base with veining. Martha Washington geraniums prefer loose, well-drained soil and require cool evenings (50-60F) in order to set buds. Grows 15-18″ high. Tender Annual.

Pelargonium x domesticum ‘Elegance Camelot’ – Spectacular flower petals of deep burgundy edged in bright rose and fading to shell pink on the edges, nicely contrasted by the bright apple green serrated foliage. Martha Washington geraniums do well in containers but should not be crowded, as they resent having their foliage covered. Grows 12 to 18″ high. Tender Annual.

Pelargonium x domesticum ‘Maiden Iced Wine’ – This cultivar features rich burgundy petals with a darker maroon center and an eye-catching pure white picotee edging, contrasted by mid-green serrated foliage. When establishing plants, leggy shoots should be pinched back to encourage bushiness and they should not be placed in hot afternoon sun. Grows 12-18″. Tender Annual.

Pelargonium x domesticum ‘Elegance Rose Bicolor’ – Pansy-like blooms with lower petals of cotton candy pink (occasionally with a solitary fuchsia blotch) and upper petals of deep fuchsia with a maroon base and soft pink edges. Martha Washington geraniums are actually a group of complex hybrids originally from South Africa. Grows 12 to 18″ high. Tender Annual.

Pelargonium x domesticum Graziosa ‘Royal Lavender’ – This Regal geranium features lavender-pink petals centered with a deep plum eye surrounded by bright fuchsia – nicely contrasted by mid-green serrated foliage. They like cooler summers and prefer not to have their foliage too wet, also when over-watered they get root rot. Grows 15-18″ high. Tender Annual.
